A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

sounds like they were singing the ending of “The Egg,” as (re)written by Matthew Sklar a la The Prom.

I couldn't understand it at all at the preview I saw. I was like "huh?" It felt like an entirely different number that I had somehow missed -- even though I'd been there the whole time.  Ha

How can a show that's so "woke" put me to sleep in 5 minutes?

By using a pointless gimmick to change the entire meaning of a show for, seemingly, no reason.

And using actors with limited acting ability (or wait, maybe the poor things were actually performing what the Director actually had in mind!!!!!).  It's all indicating, bordering on schtick, with startling, unsuccessful changes in the actual rhythms of several songs.  Who allowed THAT?

American Idol riffing and anthem-y endings of songs to try to startle us awake.

Bad, bad casting choices.  A bland, milquetoast Adams and a Whoopi-lite Franklin. And almost everyone overacting.  Even Carolee comes across (or doesn't) as forgettable and strident.  Several character numbers are now dance extravaganzas with lots of mannered, hip-hopish moves (Hamilton wannabee).

And worst of all, we don't really care if the country dies or not.  Not with these pushy, loud, charisma-free Delegates in charge.  Wow...what a waste of a production.
