My husband's favorite movie!
Thanks for the heads up. It's a wonderful film. And for those who don't know, She Loves Me was not the first musical adaptation of the story, although it is hands down the best.
ETA: My link to "In the Good Old Summertime" at IMDB for some reason won't post. Kathy, my post and its update coincided with yours.

A musical remake in the 40's, "In the Good Old Summertime", the musical "She Loves Me" and the film "You Got Mail" - pretty much grew from this gem.
Charming movie. I don't really like You got Mail but I love the other versions.

I absolutley adore this movie! Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan are both fantastic, and the supporting cast is top-notch as well. It's on again Tuesday at 2:30 for anyone who missed it.
I could never get into In The Good Old Summertime for some reason, although I do enjoy the songs. I've only seen some of You've Got Mail, but I also adore SHE LOVES ME. Such a wonderful story concept.

Coincidentally In the Good Old Summertime is on TCM at noon today.
This movie is a perfect example of the Lubitsch Touch!
And Margaret Sullavan's archetypal vulnerable performance deserved an Oscar nomination.

I just watched it again, having missed it Sunday night, and it truly is a marvelous film. Some of the best dramatic irony ever put to film.
"You've Got Mail" was a remake?!? And there's a musical version?!? How did I not know this?
