Entertainment Weekly gives it an A-, calling it a tad loopy but fresh and new.
Sorry can't link to the review
"Fresh and New" are definitely not the two words I would use to describe BULLETS.
Excited to see some (hopefully) positive reviews.
The EW review is a rave, sorry the iPad version on EW won't let me link or copy and paste
Maybe we should wait for context before dissecting these two adjectives, like... the entire review in which they appear?
Point taken
So this is word for word, this closes out the review.
Yes, it's a tad loopy. But Bullets captures the screwball spirit of the time period while remaining entirely fresh and new!
And, From the rat a tat start to the utterly bananas finale, director Susan Stroman produces one of the sprightliest and most effervescent new musicals in years.
Looks lie we have a winner here folks.
One rave does not make a winner, but I'm hoping for many more of the same, especially from Old Ben whom I understand was there for last Saturday's matinee.
From one review? Also, Entertainment Weekly's theater critic(s?) tend to be kind, particularly with musicals based on well-known films.
LimelightMike, any reason we're still seeing your 2010-2011 schedule?!
Yeah, EW is the TMZ for stage reviews. But, I don't see a review of this on the EW stage website. All it says under shows opening soon is: Bullets Over Broadway — Musical based on the Woody Allen film, starring Zach Braff; previews begin 3/11/14; opens 4/10/14. I think the review would be on that particular page so....your review is slightly confusing to me.

Roxy must feel conflicted what with "old Woody" and all.
It seemingly only leaked on EW's iPad app, not their website.
This will have to do until the Entertainment Weekly review goes up on the website.

Do not bet the farm on Grumpy old Ben
I am looking for either a qualified OK or a mixed.
Roxy, your numerous posts make me really wonder if:
a) you think people really care what your opinion is about Brantley and his reviews
b) you think people really care what your opinion is about ANYTHING.
Regardless, I think not betting the fsrm on anything is good advice.
How do you even know Ben is reviewing this show for the Times, or do you remain perpetually fixated on this one reviewer (while saying reviewers don't matter) for some reason aside from him not loving Rocky?
And now he can add two more people to his ignore list.

How, when and why did this board become more about its posters than it is about the shows?
I'm looking forward to the reviews.
