It's my favorite channel and this AM was "Pocketful of Miracles". I would love heads up on classics you love that are on this channel. I'm sure there are followers.
May 31 Touch of Evil is on. It's a dark, quirky, eccentric Orson Welles masterpiece about a corrupt cop in a border town. The scenes with Welles and Marlene Dietrich, as a Mexican madam no less, lift this film into something somewhat mythical.
I was subscribing to the Warner Archive Channel. I loved it, but when it was gone last month, I was able to extend my subscription by transferring to FilmStruck. With FilmStruck, you get all of the classic TCM programming as well as the Criterion Collection.
I used to love TCM but the idea of running an entire series of films in a single day doesn't appeal to me. All the Blondie movies, all the Tarzan movies, all the Andy Hardy movies, etc. I find myself tuning in less often because I know the rest of the day is more of the same.
And I, too, really miss Robert Osborne. Some of the commentators don't seem particularly knowledgeable. Or even particularly interested.
