A friend of mine is directing the show and is curious to know why in the original production, Diana is the only one not wear red in the final song. Any ideas/opinions/theories?

My guess would be to show that she is no longer a part of the family

Follow up, if they’re all in some form of red, what is the significance of red?

That was the choice of the director, and your friend shouldn’t copy those aspects of the original production ESPECIALLY if they don’t understand the motivation of those choices

I don’t know if this is relevant but in the beginning Diana is the only one wearing red.

Diana is colorblind.
