It was filmed earlier in the run."
Filmed for the archives or something else?"
I am not sure but I will see if I can find out. I think they film all of the shows including the ones downstairs. A friend who works at LTC said they had filmed it a while ago using a 3 camera system. The show runs 2 hours and 40 minutes if everything starts on time. This is not counting the 5 minute grace period.
I finally saw this on Thursday night and it started around 7:15. I walked out to the street right around 10 so I missed my usual 10:10 train out of Penn. This was definitely one of the most unique shows I've ever seen. I did think it was a bit too long for the subject matter and I wonder what it would look like as a shorter one-act show. It almost felt like 2 separate shows to me. I also wonder if this would have done better Off-Broadway instead.
That said I was seated in the front of the Orchestra(thanks coupon code!) and the actors kept walking right past my seat when they headed down the stairs to get off-stage so that was cool. I do think this is worth seeing for the actors, music, and the sets alone. So, I'm really glad I saw it.
