If he were happy Pumbaa the warthog from The Lion King might say,
"I'm as happy as a pig in ______!"
(Notice how I smoothly related this topic to Broadway.)
Since Rex and I have absolutely nothing else to do on this Friday evening, we thought it would be interesting to explore the above saying which was used by Mr. Roxy in a recent post. Upon reading it the first thing that came to our mind was "****", but since that is rather crass, we ran an internet search to see how others might answer this same question and listed below are some of the possibilities.
I'M AS HAPPY AS A PIG IN ________!
slop aftershave mud a poke muck outer space clover well, you know. swill one of those pig places the sunshine dirt a pile of fertilizer a pig sty jello poo a midden (what's a midden?) poop heels a puddle heaven sauce bronze a peanut patch Palestine manure a mudbath a waterbed ADSL (scientific site) 7th heaven a vat of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer a sty LOVE (finally a romantic!) doodoo whatever it is that makes pigs happy spit pie meatloaf a pork pie factory heat a blanket mudgee (this has something to do with wine in New Zealand) mud with a vibrator rubbish a brick house a tree a big old mud puddle ****e paradise you know what a cornfield the brown stuff a redwood hot tub under the stars petunias a bog truffles at Lespinasse (food critic) vinegar an amusement park a vegaterian deli sand the best mud in town in heat flying vampires a wallow a pond potato puree a low-budget porno flick sunshine/wollerin' in a mud-hole a mud slide a funeral procession spit a piggybank the proverbial chocolate flavored mud spite of the way you looked at me (Benny Hill song lyrics) Paris a mud blue bowl with lemons one of those pig places
By the way, "mud" and "****" are the terms most often used.
What's your favorite answer? Or can you come up with a better one of your own?
My perfect day would begin at on the beach in Hana, Maui and end at a Broadway Musical.
The definition of MIDDEN is a dunghill or refuse heap. So if you used it in the context of seeing a terrible show you could say it was "a MIDDEN of a theatrical event" and very few would take offense since most wouldn't have a clue what you mean.
