I'm auditioning for a production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown at the end of the month and I'm not sure what part to go for/ what to sing at my audition. I don't currently have anything comedic in my repertoire, on account of being lazy.
BTW, I'm a lyric baritone, here are a few clips of me singing... yep.
If anyone could steer me towards a role or song, I'd be forever indebted. I took out the 'Broadway Comedy Classics' sheet music from the library, but the search came up fruitless.
Thanks. I received 'Philip Quast: Live at the Donmar' in the mail yesterday and it's the best thing I've listened to in a while. I don't know if you're familiar with him, but he's an Australian baritone who is apparently a Bruce Springsteen fan. He does keyed-down, piano accompanied covers of 'I'm On Fire' and 'The River', as well as 'Every Breath You Take'. Beautiful.
Well, definitely not the black kid... I guess that leaves Charlie Brown, Linus, and Snoopy. Sadly I thick my think black hair is most reminiscent of Lucy.

I seldomly listen to the radio or watch TV anymore... the only musical branching out I've done lately is when friends lend me CDs. I've recently discovered Sigur Ros and Hayden.
I just got the role of CB in a production of YAGMCB. I did "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin. Charlie Brown only goes up to an F I believe, but you might want to check me on that. I know Snoopy goes up to a B flat and Linus goes up to an F as well ...
Pick a happy song since YAGMCB is a happy kids show. Good luck. :)
Charlie Brown never loses hope. His friends may call him "blockhead," but he faces each day with optimism. He is friendly and polite, although he loses at baseball games, the football is always pulled away, and his love for the little red-haired girl is never returned.
Well, technically, there were two original subjects. This is a bizarre amalgamation thread that I'd imagine only occurs when the stars are in a certain alignment.
