"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
I caught the show in San Francisco, and was amazed by the talent of the cast. Could the folks who thought the leads couldn't sing well possibly have seen the same production? I've seen both Ms. Voytko and Mr. Dean in many other shows, and both exceeded their usual high standards of vocal quality and acting ability. Evita was a terrific, tight production and a faithful recreation of the original Bway show with a cast more than up to the task.
Just digging up this thread to ask if anyone here has seen Andrew Ragone go on as Che? I saw him last week. I'd heard good things about Bradley Dean so I was a bit disappointed to see that he was out, but I enjoyed Andrew's performance very much. I wish the acoustics in the theatre hadn't been so bad; he had a beautiful, powerful voice, but some of the lyrics got lost. So... has anyone else seen him?
