I was doing research on the song Two Little Words from steel pier and in the libretto the scene is described as "The Cellophane Wedding," What is that exactly?

One of the promotional gimmicks at many dance marathons was a fake wedding of one of the couples (the minister is an actor, there's no real wedding license). It was usually sponsored by a local business. In STEEL PIER, a candy company sponsors the wedding of Bill and Rita, and the "bridesmaids" are dressed in see-through "cellphane" gowns that look like candy wrappers. It combines an advertising gimmick with a little sex - you can see the girls' undies.
thank you soo much!
