Besides the Christine Baranski produced in Washington, DC last summer and the concert version starring Sandy Duncan which was done somewhere recently, I haven't heard about a revival.

I think that TV movie version needs to be made, but not with Cher. I think Raquel Welch would make a good Mame with, maybe Bette Midler as Vera?

Raquel is 67, Bette is 61.

Age has NOTHING to do with anything when it comes to acting. It's an actor's job to 'play' any age -- within reason.

Dustin Hoffman was 31 when he played Benjamin in the 1967 film THE GRADUATE -- the character is 20-21. Anne Bancroft (at 36...5 years older than Dustin) played the much older Mrs. Robinson.

I can go on endlessly with the age discrepancy between actor's real ages and their characters, etc.

Would love to see Queen Latifah in that role. I think she would be incredible.
