This hasn't been advertised much, but Claire Moore will be performing with Simon Hale at Carnegie Hall tonight.

For those of you who don't know, Claire is kind of a stand-by of the stars in London. She was Ellen Greene's standby for Little Shop, Sarah Brightman's standby (and successor) for Phantom and Elaine Paige's standby for The King and I.

She also has done quite a bit of principal work. She has played Fantine and Mme Thenardier in Les Mis, Mary in the 20th Anniversary Cast of Superstar and created the role of Ellen in Miss Saigon (Ruthie Henshall was her understudy and successor).

I've never seen her live (this is her U.S. debut), but judging from the recordings she's done (both live and studio) I think she's amazing!
