>Again, how many people have actually seen it?
Not everybody in the thread like you said.
I would guess 3 or 4.<

Here are the opinions of over 25 BWWers from this very
thread who have seen and weighed in on the logo.
Consider this our own little focus group:

"Anyhow, I like it! It's got C-A-M-P painted all over it."
being.jeremiah

"I love it too! This logo just feels like a hit show though, it's really good."
ray and all that jazz

"Nice!"
Jaystarr

"I’m digging it!"
MotorTink

"Love It!"
YankeeFan007

"the poster's enough to get me psyched to see Cry-Baby."
FindingNamo

"It looks fantastic!"
popular_elphie

"I absolutely love it! Finally a musical has enough
courage to make their logo look vintage rather than
trying to make it look modern."
BroadwayEnthusiast2

"In a season of bland and uninspred posters (and I'm
not referring to my fellow BWWers) this one is
utterly brilliant."
Tazber

"That Rocks!"
mateo

"I also like the CRY BABY logo, a lot."
CurtainPullDowner

"The Graphic Designer Angels are shining down on us!"
Wanna Be a Foster

"I LOVE it! Makes me really want to see it!!"
Truman

"It's really cool - I am really looking forward to
seeing this show."
TinkersCanne

"Love Love Love it"
OurTime992

"This is one of the best show logos I've seen in
such a long time! I hope this is released as a poster!
Cuz it's screaming at me to put it on my wall along
with Grindhouse, Rocky Horror and Spring Awakening!
I'm seriously in love with it :)"
Mr. Sweet N Awful

"Oh, I love it! It's just perfectly retro. I will
defiantly have to get this poster to put up on my
wall!"
WithoutLoveWithoutU

"I like it a lot!"
BroadwayFan7

"It's full of awesomeness."
Maya5892

"Love it"
Kyle

"It’s sure going to sell tickets"
Ed_Mottershead

"I like it for the simple reason that it is
just as campy as the show."
Dented146

"I like it. It seems like it represents what
the musical is all about and thats what a good
musical artwork should do."
ClumsyDude15

"finally a poster with some pizazz!"
scamp3

"Absolutely awesome! Love the retroness. So cool.
Just saw the movie for the first time last week and
now I'm really excited for this show."
Scarywarhol

"I love it!"
dancingthrulife04

"i think its really FUN & LURID!!!"

You're good, Smaxie.

a sensational ad that if this thread is to be believed, appeals to almost everyone who has seen it

Do you not read what you or I am saying?

Out of those people that you pulled quotes from only three or four of them have seen the show. Why do you keep insisting all 25 have seen it?

What does it matter if they've seen the show or not? People clearly are liking the poster, and it's appealing.

Simple as that.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I actually never said anything to anybody about liking the poster.

I posted my comments about it and shared my thoughts and said what I and others that I talked to thought about it, and some posters (Craig/Smaxie) were upset with my thoughts and felt the need to make me defend them (which I successfully did).

Simple as that.

You already saw the show, neddy.

You gave them your money. You are no longer of use to the producers.

You liked it and you intend on paying again and coming back for more.

We have not seen the show, yet this poster has encouraged us to want to give them our money and buy tickets, which is the intention of a good logo.

And if the show is as good as the critics and you say it is, we will like it too, and spread the word.

Some of us may choose to buy tickets again.

Whether or not people who have already seen the show like the logo is meaningless.

Thank You Foster for once again showing us what a charming young man you are.

I am glad to know that you will buy tickets and some of you may end up buying tickets again because for every ticket that is purchased money ends up in my pocket. So please, buy away!

I'm not upset with your thoughts. I just think they are wrong. I don't think you have successfully explained anything, except cling blindly to your ill-formed and alarmist opinion.

For your earlier post about how many people on this thread who liked the poster have seen the show... what does it matter? All the people I quoted above responded positively to the poster, with some saying it has made them excited about the show and will get them into the theatre. If the poster gets them into the theatre, won't it have done its job?

To your All That Chat link, I must state that one of the posters quoted, 'westcoastdrama' has been posting negatively about Cry-Baby every time it is mentioned. The Cry-Baby poster could have been the poster for Follies, and he'd have had a negative opinion to express. Nor do I put much faith in some of the other remarks, since so often the posters are people involved with rival productions. (That happens here too, of course).

And if you derive financial benefit from Cry-Baby doing well in New York, what sense does it make to complain loudly about the Broadway marketing for it? Shouldn't you just hold your tongue?

So now you're claiming you work for the production, neddy.

That's not what you said here when you were confronted about it.

Guess what WannaBe - I don't work for the production.

In no way, shape, or form am I working for McAlister, Epstein, Wasser, or Williams. I am not employed to work for them or for the production of Cry Baby.

Um, the poster kind of looks like a western to me. Oklahoma or something. The colors kind of bother me.

That said, I'm excited to see the actual show.

I probably should, but my posts will not alter enough peoples opinions to make a difference.

And Wannabe, I LOVE your signature. I think that is great that you think I am a Cry Baby employee when I don't even live on the east coast. I don't know what kind of producers employee people who live over 2000 miles away from where the show is playing. But, besides your signature being totally wrong, you are great promotion for the show! Keep at it!

Neddy is 16 years old, what could he possibly do for this production? Sweep the stage after the show??
