It was announced today that Kristin Chenoweth is to star in a new indie drama "Into Temptation". She'll play a suicidal prostitute. Sounds like fun.

Dearest, how can this be so? You were dead, you know. - Candide
Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]

Wow.
How very... different... from her normal roles.
I am looking forward to seeing her stretch her acting skills with this.
Love her and I hope this does well.

Posted: 5/14/08 at 12:59pmHow does this sound awkward?? It actually sounds fairly intriguing. I think it's just the thing she needs to prove that she's a versitile actress. I hope she can pull it out! I wanna see it.

They should call it "The Perkiest Prostitute"! (Sorry.) I'm a Christian and I'll reserve judgment on this one until we actually know something substantial about it. Even for a conservative Christian, life doesn't always revolve around what "The 700 Club" likes and doesn't like. Not that I like explicitness/gratuitousness/whatever in films -- and I don't want to see everything she owns (ahem, TooDarnHot!) -- but there doesn't necessarily have to be any. It's all in how it's done, and what the themes of the film are.

Oh please! Vanessa Williams did it too.
it's female empowerment. self confidence and courage. the greatest stuff...
I'm a gay man and even I think that Kristin is lookin HOT in that picture!

Well, personally, I never could see why stripping in front of a camera was supposed to be particularly empowering or confidence-boosting. But I'm just a woman, so what do I know?
Anyone can take their clothes off. The real talent is in the actual acting (or singing or whatever).

So, TooDarnHot, I'm to take it that suicidal prostitutes lay around nude in the sand all day?
MCfan2 , I'm just a woman, too,
and I think it is up to the individual to find what is empowering for herself (or himself). Anyone can take off their clothes, but not everyone will look like the girl in the picture TooDarnHot posted when they do. It's Kristin Chenoweth's call, IMO.

The Dusty Springfield biopic is still considered in production, though it was announced recently Nicole Kidman will be starring in a DS biopic as well, which means all the press will go towards that one, ala Capote vs Infamous.
The more important question is whether or not she's still voicing the lead in Disney's Rapunzel!

"Anyone can take off their clothes, but not everyone will look like the girl in the picture TooDarnHot posted when they do."
Too true. But then it becomes all about who has a better body. Which sounds more like vanity than empowerment to me. Maybe that makes some people feel empowered, but to me it would feel like, "Look, I'm a more attractive piece of meat than the other pieces of meat around! That's what gives me confidence!" Again, maybe that makes some people feel empowered. For me it would feel like I was setting women back a thousand years.

It'd be nice if we could discuss Kristin's movie in this thread instead blaming her for setting women back 50 years because she posed with driftwood in Allure LAST year . . .
I think it's great that Kristin is playing against the perky innocent characters that she always seems to play. I think she'll make a great suicidal whore! I only hope that the film is released to enough places that I'll be able to see it.
