Thoughts inspired by 'The Music Man'

Not really about 'The Music Man', as such; just inspired by and based on.

1) There are still some people who get terribly angry at 'In The Heights' having rap. Have these people never encountered the opening number of 'The Music Man'?

2) Actually, Stew kinda does have a point, some shows really do have endless buttons and an uplifting act 1 closer. XD Not all of them though!

3) I'm amazed at how many songs from 'The Music Man' I know, considering this is the first time I've ever experienced it in its entirety.

My head hurts. I blame Rupert Goold. I go bed.

Who needs brandy? I did some long car-journeying, over-consumption of caffeine, and exposed myself to the strange things Rupert Goold and Ben Power do when Chichester Festival Theatre let 'em. I've never been right in the head, but reality's gone on holiday this time. XD

I just like when people say the rapping in IN THE HEIGHTS is too fast. I wonder if they've ever encountered real hip-hop.

In the men's room after Adding Machine, I overheard two men talking about how the whole show was copied after The Music Man -- particularly the direct lifting of the opening train sequence. I had no idea what they were talking about.
