"You just can't win. Ever. Look at the bright side, at least you are not stuck in First Wives Club: The Musical. That would really suck. "

Just finished Philip K. Dick's VALIS. Okay, interesting in a lot of ways, but my patience with depictions of religious quests gets very limited very quickly, especially with silly religious quests, like the one in this novel. I liked the identity games Dick was playing with the narrator, though.
Just started Pynchon's INHERENT VICE, good fun so far. I was looking forward to the new E.L. Doctorow, but it didn't get the best review in the Times today, not that that means anything...
"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers." Thomas Pynchon, GRAVITY'S RAINBOW
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." Philip K. Dick

OK, this isn't the thread I was searching for but for all intents and purposes it works. Has anyone read Third Twin by Ken Follet? I just downloaded it from the e-library.
I just finished A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. It is a long book and deals with some pretty difficult subject matter, but I would HIGHLY recommend it. Easily the best book I read this year.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
