I first learned about them from that thread here, and think what's most upsetting is the fact that these children haven't been removed from their parents' influence yet.

Disagreed politically? Disagreeing with someone politically is like Democrats versus Republicans. Objecting to the promotion of dangerous racist views among children is common sense.

Ok, this show just started on the west coast and it's only been on for five minutes. I am already disgusted.

I just visited that website....the german clothing, the link to the lyrics to their music, the whole thing made me ill.

"we want to stay white"??? I agree with what Undiscovered said earlier...WTF?? Last time I checked, there's no magical fairy visiting homes at night and changing people's race!

Was that from their message board? They had this whole section dedicated to the show, and saying that the "liberal media" was all about making them look bad with the pictures of Hitler and swastikas.

Nevermind that their father uses/wears swastikas and on their website, there's a picture of the girls in Hitler smiley face t-shirts. These people believe the Holocaust was made up by conniving Jews, why would they use something like logic?

The moment she turns around at that window the first time is etched in my memory forever.

The only thing I never understood about the project was using the Allan Parsons Project (whom I really like, by the way) for the soundtrack. The film, for the most part, is done in period (with slight anachronistic dialogue touches) so the music stands apart and away from the rest of it - for me, anyway.

Yes, but when Father Imperius the Monk explains the curse to Phillipe Gaston, and the scene ends with ladyhawke flying over the water, the orchestration is brilliant.

It's very sad---from that pic on ABC.com, they look like sweet girls who are being fed terrible information. I can picture their having a wake up one day and feeling mortified by what they promoted.

SO, I'm curious where we draw the line? When does their pop act become something that should be silenced?

I ask this because in all of the threads regarding people who promote anti-gay rhetoric, I have been attacked for not being respectful of their right to anti-gay views. I was attacked for not showing the tolerance I expected.

And, somehow, I get the feeling that if I were to be even harsher of these girls and their family, NO ONE would quibble with me.

So why the double standard?

No double standard from me, Jerby. I am with you here and with issues of gay rights.

People should not be allowed to preach and spread their hate in either case. It is not an acceptable veiw if we are trying to have a society in which people are respected and given opportunity, which is what we need to have. In both cases these people are beyond any reason and forfiet their right of expression. It is the same as a group that freely advocates murder and robbery as daily activities, these people are tearing at the hearts of all of us, and for us to allow them to spread their message of hate, is a mark against our collective souls.

jrb, the situation with these children is just that, they are children. They are being brought up to promote hate, which is sad enough, but they probably don't even realize what they are doing because it's all they know at this point. Just a very sad situation for those kids. Hate breeds hate.

Of course they do, that's the point. It's not at all right, just unfortunate that these kids have to have all this hate pounded into their brains when they should be...well...kids. These parents don't even give them a chance to form their own opinions and perceptions about people.

So, again, I am asking why it's not ok for me to attack people who preach hatred against gays, but it's ok for all of us to attack people who preach hatred against people of color and people of the Jewish faith? This question is obviously aimed at those who had drawn the distinction.

Those girls are sick, but their parents are evil. there should be total intolerance for this kind of crap; treat it as a hate crime.

And there needs to be less tolerence of ANY race-centric message, organization whatever...black entertainers must never use the "n" word again...everyone should treat all others kindly because we are from one race; the human race.

Thats my take.

jrb, I completely agree with you. It's not okay that people make a distinction between the two, because hate is hate and should not be tolerated, regardless of who the target is.

In my other post, however, I was referring to the twins' website, where their "fans" use the band's forum exclusively to discuss and promote hate, not to discuss band lyrics or concert dates or anything normal like that. When someone comes in and starts objecting using curse words, the posters all freak out, because they are just there to support these cute little girls and their band. This objector is banned for befouling the innocent eyes of the girls with their hateful words- nevermind that the girls themselves and the other posters drop racial epithets without batting an eyelash. That's what I meant by mouthpieces, not merely using them as a billboard, but using them to hide behind when objectors come along.
