re: Clip of James Marsden in Hairspray!

I think Amanda will be great as Penny. I mean, judging by her speaking voice, I think she can pull it off.

And AWWW. James sounds so great - I'm looking forward to seeing him most.

re: Worst/Corniest/Cheesiest Line in a Show

Slight threadjack, but:

"Hey Winnie Holzman created My So-Called Life and birthed Jordan Catalano unto the world, she can totally write all the cheesy sitcoms she wants. :)"

AMEN.

re: Disney's Hercules on Broadway?

La Chanze surprised me too! I was so pumped when I first found out, LOL.
Aladdin Dream Casting!

AHH. I totally agree with Terrence Mann as Jafar!

Heh. I've been >told< I'd make a killer Jasmine- I wish I still lived in Cali so I could audition for the California Adventures production.

re: Disney's Hercules on Broadway?

I wish I knew which played which muse; I've been trying to figure it out for a while.
re: Worst/Corniest/Cheesiest Line in a Show

"iRuvPrinceton: Have you actually read the novel? In the context, those lines are beautiful."

Ooh, yes, I have read the novel (and loved it), and I understand why the lyrics are there, but when I listen to the song, it just irks me. No other explanation.

re: Evita on Broadway?

Well, er, regardless- >if< it should, by any chance, come to Broadway: Marla Schaffel, anyone? (Don't know of someone mentioned her already) I think she's played Evita before.
re: Worst/Corniest/Cheesiest Line in a Show

Oh, I'm a big fan of cheese. I know this is based on text from the novel, but I find:

"You are my life, my second self; oh, be my wife, my little elf"

from JANE EYRE quite hysterical and cheesy.

re: weird ideas for musicals

My dad and I have been toying around the the idea of THE MATRIX: THE MUSICAL. Hahahaha. We've already got some of the songs planned.

Okay, not really.

re: Lea Salonga Broadway.com Q&A

I love Lea. So much. She's been my idol ever since I was very little and I'm so glad I'll have the opportunity to see her soon!

When we lived in the Philippines, my dad said that some people used to comment on her -lack- of accent, actually.

re: The Moment You Fell in Love With Theater

Forgive me for my cheese but it was the moment YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN began. I was eight years old and I was in love. For most of my life, I had read Peanuts comics religiously and seeing those characters on stage, really, was awesome.

:P Again, I say, sorry for the cheese!

re: The Most Haunting Score?

-ASSASSINS
-SECRET GARDEN
-SWEENEY TODD
-MARIE CHRISTINE
and RAGTIME (Ahh, the ending. *shivers*)

Who Do You Think Were Robbed Tonys?

Might not be my place to say this, since I haven't seen either actresses in these shows, but, I thought Marla Schaffel should have won the Tony for Jane Eyre, rather than Christine Ebersole in 42nd Street. (I do love me some Christine, don't get me wrong.)

Broadway's Biggest Scandal!

"Audrey must be sleeping with the camera person. I don't think I've seen one without her."

LMAO, especially at that picture. Oh, dear me.

I had something more intelligent to say, but I lack sleep and the 'word' "encaptured" really got me.

re: Les Miz- School Edition

As someone who was in the school edition production (as Cosette) and a huge fan of Les Mis, I can say for sure that the show is great to perform and is good for younger students as a first show. (That may sound weird, but there were many ten year olds who joined the theatre group for that show.)

And, the only things we changed for Mme. Thenardier's lines were:
"lifelong twist"
and "everybody raise a beer" "raise it up the master's rear" =)

re: Secret Garden - FIRST POST

*bounces* Yes, I can't wait!
re: Broadway Song that best fits your life

"In My Life" (Just Cosette's part, obviously) plus "I'm Not That Girl"
re: Movie Musicals with Original Broadway Casts

Didn't Godspell keep some of the original cast?
re: REDHEAD the musical

Hehehe, I was just about to say that same thing, lukeboy. I thought I was going crazy
