Anna and Josh aren't even married in their WEDDING PHOTOS!

Shannon- my daughter and I have been laughing at this show for the last hour! The whole wedding thing was so lame. Josh- the boy- is obviously too immature to get married! Personally, I think you should be at least 21 so you're legal in every state! I, too, could not believe he saw his bride before the wedding and I also can't believe they didn't have her ring at the ceremony. The bridesmaids looked like princesses in his mother's eyes- what? What planet is she from! The whole thing was just laughable and so immature! just sayin'

The parents, the latest baby and 2 of the daughter's were on The View this past week. And I just had an uneasy feeling about them that I could not pinpoint and still can't. But I was getting a feeling that even though the mother was saying they are gifts from God, she would be just fine with not having all of those kids. Maybe 2 or 3 but not 18.

In defense of the right to procreate, I think if the parents are supporting these children then it's no one's business how many children they have. Where is the outrage with welfare mom's who make a business out of popping out babies so they can get support money for them? There are plenty of people in this country who choose not to have children so I don't think the Duggars should be blamed for using up too many resources.

When I was young, the social agenda of the time was to limit each family to only two children, just enough to replace the parents. I bought into that, thinking it would bring about a better society. Well obviously it was all a sham because we imported millions upon millions of immigrants most of which believe in at least three or four children.

I look at this family and I see happy well adjusted kids. At least the Duggar family works as a team. Responsibilities are given to those who are old enough to walk. As far as the homeschooling goes, what's the big deal? They seem like they're fairly bright. I know that the family is not the norm but why should that be laughable? They are simply in a time warp. A hundred years ago a family that size would not be too far out of the norm.

At the risk of being attacked and made fun of myself, I would like to say it is refreashing to see this family, I think they're wonderful.

These people are odd because they're happy. They're odd because they are not the norm but that's what I love about them. They live their lives according to their beliefs and convictions, so what? The Constitution allows us that. Supposedly we have the right to choose and women are in full control of their reproductive rights, supposedly. It's Michelle's right to have sex every night of the week and not use birth control.

We constantly hear about diversity and how wonderful it is, I agree with that. So let these people be different. We hear about gay rights and gay marraige, I also agree with that. Allow
heterosexuals their rights as well.

If I seem a little passionate about this subject it's because I came from a very disfunctional family and I grew up thinking that happy and well adjusted people were odd.

Oh Jesus Christ. No one has voted to take away these folks right to procreate in the name of Jesus, who are doing it to make up for their sin of using the Pill. Your analogy is way, way off.

I was speaking to the posters in this thread. I was voicing my opinion about this family. I never said their rights were being taken away. I simply said that they have a right to as many children as they want. So much for diversity of opinion.

Aren't you the one who brought up gay marriage? YOU made the analogy.

Who said you can't have an opinion? No one. You just have nothing to back it up, save for the fact that you blame society because you didn't know you could have 400 children and then bring up welfare mothers making a living out of having babies, while this a thread about a family who does make a living out of the fact that they had a lot of babies.

Again, no one said you weren't entitled to your opinion. You are just crazy defensive.

Ugh, I know. JimBob had that whole sermon about how it sets a good example for younger people to wait, but I was seven when I had my first kiss! Way too young to understand the ridiculous morality rules of "saving" it for marriage.

Since this show is highly edited- it seems that we are only allowed to see one side. Since I don't live in that household, I can't tell if the kids are really happy or not- it's a TV SHOW. These kids are highly sheltered and stepford like in my opinion. Personally, I thought it was wierd for the father to announce at the wedding how they were sharing their first kiss. Seemed a little self-righteous to me. just sayin' and not judging anyone else for their difference of opinion.

^^^^ LMAO!!!!

I think it's great to have something to believe in and stick to...but being "down for Jesus" hardcore like that can be perceived as a lil creepy.

And Sheldon, I shudder to think what they're gonna do to poor little Josiah Leviticus Exodus, or whatever their names are, when they realize one of their boys or girls is gay. I know the rest of my family will be none too pleased to find out about me...and I won't even have 18 other people to tell. Sheesh!!
