Ah.

I think that deleting it is admiting to being wrong, and Jose' knows what kind of feathers that ruffles and it's not a good idea. At any rate, I think someone out there owes a few people apologies.

ETA- Thank you, Marquise. But what exactly about my post seemed insulting? It was an honest question, but I suppose it's hard to tell on the internet.

What pattern? Matt keeps following me and PM'ing me. I am trying to stay away from this creep he scares me. Really, he is a cyber stalker, and I don't feel good about it, trust me. I have actually asked Rob and Craig to not allow PM because of him.

A sock is a sock puppet. When a poster comes here and does something like, say, shilling for Brooklyn, that poster may quickly find himself the object of ridicule on this board. Then that poster may decide that the only way to muster up support for his shilly cause is by creating it- creating a new user name and using it as a "sock puppet" to disingenuously go after his enemies and support his cause. Or heck, why not create 11 fake usernames?

That's what I mean when I cry "sock."

ETA: The funny thing about the Brooklyn sockmaster is that he always follows the same behavioral patterns. Take that as you will.

Thanks. I get it now. I'm beggining to think we need a bww dictionary to define all these terms. How about an etymology lesson? Where did 'shill' come from. And is 'sock' new or did I just miss it before?

ETA- haha, Marquise. I personally only want to be stalked by guys who use their own picture in their avatars, so I think Matt_G's out.

Some of the more vociferous posters have no need for sock identities. The real ones they have been using for so very long are empty enough.
