I just started watching the show and I'm very happy Usher won the first award of the night. He's such a cool and polite guy.

I forgot it was on. I guess I'll flip back and forth between that and the Amazing Race. Right now they are both commercials.

What was with Miley Cyrus? She was straining so much. Yuck- Taylor Swift just beat out Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood!
She did look good though- loved her dress and her straight hair.

^ I think Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert both had a better year than Taylor. However, I'm happy for Taylor winning the award.

Yeah- these awards are based on Billboard Magazine. So far, most of the performances have been pretty boring!

It just started here. I flipped it on to Rhianna partially lip-synching. It looked like Lion King "lite".

The AMA's are my favorite music awards show, and except for a few (Rhianna, Miley and Bieber), it's been a pretty good night so far.

Loved Enrique, Pink and Bon Jovi. Though, he did have a bit of trouble hitting a couple of those high notes.

I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

^Agree! Could you hear me yelling at my TV from Florida? Lady Gaga is a true artist. Justin Bieber annoys the hell out of me! My daughter said he shouldn't even be at the American Music Aswards because he's Canadian!

Was ANYTHING good on this show? I liked P!nk's performance, but that was really it. Even the folks I usually like sounded bad. "Two of the greatest bands of all time..." was in reference to New Kids and The Backstreet Boys?!!!

I missed some of the show in transit. Was Cher on?

^ totally agree. How can they be called a band when they don't play instruments! No Cher- just Christina. I liked Pink's presentation too.

That's weird. Cher has been at the rehearsals and she was mentioned on the promos. Pink was tweeting about being there with her. I hope she's not sick.

I caught the end of Katy Perry and that was painful. The CMA's were much better. They are stillon here. Train just went off. I was kind of like "What?" when Beiber said "without MJ none of us would be here".

Katy sounded awful. Taylor was bad, but she always is. To be honest, P!nk didn't sound that great either (but I think she gave a good performance and the belly rub was too cute!). No one that I saw sounded too good.

P!nk just tweeted, My ta ta's were the stars of the show, let's be honest...

I can listen to just about anything, but I really feel like I must be getting old because I wouldn't dance to half of these songs! I am over the techno sound and that autotune mess drives me up a wall! I want to turn it off but I can't stop watching! Plus I want to see The Backstreet Boys and New Kids.

Cher just probably said "nevermind"! I kinda like the "Burlesque" song though and I liked Christina's performance.

It was inevitable that Bieber would win AOTY. His fans are insanely obsessive after all.

Obviously it should have gone to Gaga but I don't think they like her. She won Best Female Pop/Rock, but they apparently didn't even show the award, let alone announce her win.

It's just rude to be honest. She did a performance last year, premiering Bad Romance live, and she got shunned repeatedly...so unsurprisingly she didn't show this year, but even then she's not blowing them off, she's touring in Europe. You know, doing what a successful popstar does, not posing on the red carpet.

I thought all the performances were a bit crap to be honest. Christina disappointed me. It was 'alright', but Express just isn't a very good song to perform - and seemingly, it's too high for her. It fizzles out after the first chorus. Show Me How You Burlesque would have been much better, especially if they squeezed in a Cher cameo. All things considered, they could probably have stolen the night.

Is Christina pregnant again? She looked kind of puffy. Updated On: 11/22/10 at 09:27 AM

Ugh, Taylor. I really love Taylor Swift, but watching her perform live can be maddening sometimes. I've seen her put on a great performance now and then, but generally when she performs live, I wish through the whole thing she was a better singer or someone who could sing better had recorded the song. (All that being said, her new album is absolutely fantastic.)

toanythingtaboo2...lol. What in God's name are you talking about....it's rude not to give Gaga an award? Come ON. I love Gaga, but how can you even attribute her not winning awards to someone's MANNERs, LOL. It's not like there's one person who sits in a dark room making these decisions and decides to snub her because he or she thinks Gaga smells bad. The awards are voted for, and as everyone knows, all sorts of politics goes into who wins what. Thank you for the laugh, though.

Tom, I was wondering the same thing about Christina. I think it was the outfit and the camera angle. But that would be interesting since she is in the middle of a divorce.

I was saying it was rude to not even air Gaga winning the award, not that it's rude to not give her one (it's only the AMA's after all), but thanks for the attitude. Went down a treat.

But, for the record; http://twitpic.com/392mq5 Israel Hernandez posted this. He is on Gaga's team and Troy Carter is Gaga's manager.

I don't believe for a second that these award shows are purely fan-voted. They never release numbers or anything, it's just a poll on their website that they have seemingly no obligation to follow.

Awarding those who turn up is hardly a new accusation.
