A few more clips have been released recently:

The slightly "classic?"-style dialogue feels a bit stilted in the trailer IMO, but maybe that's something you get used to after 5 minutes of the film. I still want to see it.

I saw a screening of the movie last night at Walt Disney Studios. It was stunning! The dress transformation scene garnered a well-deserved applause from the audience. I can't wait to see it again when it officially comes out next month. I know it will look even more stunning in IMAX!

I'm back on BWW just for tonight since there was more 'Beauty and the Beast' casting news. Some new clips and photos have been released.

Plus, James and Madden are apparently working with Branagh again in an upcoming revival of 'Romeo and Juliet'. Funny how they go from playing lovers who live happily ever after to lovers who have sad endings.

Lily's voice is so beautiful (but weak at some parts) and reminds me so much of Illene Woods and HBC's Biddi-Boppity-Boo?! Holy ****! Why isn't this in the movie?! Just as magical as the original version! Brava Lily & HBC! So pumped for B&TB now!
Preview for the Soundtrack
Wait so the songs aren't in the movie? "Bobbed Boppity Boo" sounds pulled straight from the scene.

90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which way higher that 'Maleficent' and 'Alice in Wonderland's rating.

It's a good thing to hear from people that have seen it that this new CINDERELLA isn't some sort of a bland, boring remake of the same animated film.

It's outpacing 'Maleficent' in advance ticket sales, which is a great sign for this film.

I just got back from seeing it. Call me crazy, but I loved it more than the cartoon. It was a very traditional and faithful adaptation. Lily James was simply wonderful as Cinderella. She was kind and so likable. Richard Madden was the definition of "charming". Cate was the perfect villain and Helena was divine as the Fairy Godmother. The film also visually stunning.
ETA: The only thing I have to complain about is that I went to an 8:10 showing and there was a toddler who was up way past their bedtime and made way too much noise at the beginning during the scenes with Cinderella growing up with her parents.

It's such a feel-good, positive movie that shows no matter what, goodness will always win in the end. Also, you don't need to hold a sword or forge a war to show strength. I can't wait to see it again!

Loved this movie. So heartwarming and exactly what I needed last night.
In my opinion, it's the best adaptation so far. I was enchanted from beginning to end. Pitch perfect casting, they keep it simple, sweet and tight at an hour and 45 minutes. I even cried towards the end. Just stunning. I may go again in IMAX.
Disney could have not done a better job with a remake of their beloved classic. Absolutely gorgeous to look at with perfect casting and music with great twists and turns. The characters are so well-developed here, especially the romance between Ella and Kitt. I can believe they were in love. More thoughts may come, but it was perfect. Bring on Beauty and the Beast!
This was a charming movie indeed and I'm very glad that when it comes to story and character wise it's better than the animated film but the animated film will always be visually perfect. Even though I think making the Duke a minor villain was very pointless that the movie would've run fine without that part.
But there is one thing about this version that bugs me a little. You all know how in the animated film that the stepsisters tear Cinderella's pink dress a new one that it can't be fixed in time, however in this, her stepmother only tears a tiny bit that it can be sewn back together in no time. I thought that was a bit weird.
The scene where the sisters destroy the dress is one of the best. I'm disappointed.
I read an article today that basically said that Cinderella is the Anti-Frozen, in that Cinderella just takes her punishment without a fight.
I'm going to try and see it on Wednesday.

To be fair, by the time she would've finished sewing the dress, the ball would've been over, so there really wasn't any point. I do like how Ella insisted on wearing that dress to the ball since it was her mother's and would've rather had the godmother mend it than turn it into something new.
I only hope this film will be remembered come Oscar time. I think the costumes, sets, and score deserve nominations. Honorable mentions for the visual effects and cinematography.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this, but the one thing that puts me off in the trailer is the crazy-loud colors in the costumes.
It looks like my grandmother's candy dish exploded on the screen.
Everything screams at me, especially that electric-blue ballgown.

I went back to see it today and it was even better the second time around. I'm glad that I got to enjoy the scenes of Ella's childhood without any disruptions. The movie is just gorgeous to look at and the story is timeless. Plus, I noticed that the scene that was often advertised where Cinderella tells Lady Tremaine that she's dreaming and her stepmother tells her to wake up was not included in the film.
I saw this with my boyfriend on Wednesday. Early afternoon in a mini IMAX screen. The theater calls it EXT but I don't know if there are any equivalences.
Anyway, 400 seat theater and there were about 30 of us. Worst part is that there was a couple who sat on the row behind us, and maybe five seats over. They talked through the first 20 or so minutes. I had to tell them to shut up three times. They finally got it.
I liked the childhood scenes and the Stepmother's backstory. I didn't like the pace, especially the counting down to midnight sequence. She knows she doesn't have a lot of time and yet she doesn't move. MOVE BITCH! RUN!
The movie also stalled a lot when Cate wasn't on screen. Loved Daisy as the stepsister. I was a little bored with Lady Rose. The Prince was handsome, but I never got why she fell in love.
Overall, it was gorgeous to look at. Helena looked like was having the most fun. Didn't like the ballgown until she started dancing.
I'll buy it on DVD.
I just got back from a very late showing and I thought it was absolutely perfect. I think it is the most visually beautiful movie I've ever seen. All of the additions from the cartoon worked to the movie's benefit, and where they really went right was casting a very good actor to play the prince. Because of that, you really felt chemistry between the two leads. Their first dance was one of the most touching and beautiful scenes in a movie I've ever seen. It was the perfect balance of comedy and fantasy, and I cried several times throughout the movie. Bravo to the cast and crew who made this absolutely perfect movie possible.
