I saw the suicide thread too, and posted on it probably as it was being taken down.

BobbyBubby--be strong, if you can, and get help. It's worth it. Life is worth it. Things can change so quickly. Keep trying and hoping if you can. I don't pretend to understand life, but I'm doing my best to learn from it as I go along.

You posted this on a public message board. It was a worldwide "cry for help." I hope you will take the help now from those who can give it.

You're in my thoughts and prayers.

So - and I don't really mean to ruffle any feathers here, but it's a suicide threat on a message board and I don't know that that requires kid gloves - but how does BorstalBoy actually know that he went to his parents? Has anyone had any contact with him since he said that?

Unfortunately, no. We really have no way of contacting him outside of BWW, but as Daydreamer said, he and Bobbybubby have mutual acquaintances so all we can do now is hope for the best.

Please get help. As Shameless said, we can care about you, which we do, but we can't provide the professional help that could really make a difference. And as luvtheEmcee posted, don't give up because of bad therapists. There are also great ones out there...you just need to find the one that's right for you.

I'm sorry Borstalboy, but I don't accept that you are qualified to determine the condition of Bobbybubby. Just saying he is "bit calmed down" does not appease the fact that a man was on the internet saying that he was going to kill himself. He needs professional help.
In Washington state when a person threatens harm to himself, the state can intervene and this opens up the various state channels to give the person the help they need. Calling the police will do that. Also calling a crisis line will. They are trained to respond to a suicide call with medical professionals who know what to do in such a case and evaluate the person's condition.

I don't think that you, or an internet message board, or his supposed mutual friends, or his parents are qualified to make that evaluation. I am wondering why you said "So don't call the police, he won't be at his house anyway." - in other words, "don't seek professional help for this person" - when you are not qualified to evaluate the situation. If the police can't find the man at his house, they can find out where his parents are. The threat of suicide is a serious thing and should be taken seriously. The man was complaining that no one was taking him seriously. Why would you not want the mods to try to have professionals locate and assess his condition?
