Suzuki Beane was a book meant to be a satire on the Eloise series.
Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz purchased the rights for a tv show.
Does anyone know about either the book or the show?

Desilu produced a pilot of Suzuki Beane with Katie Sweet in the lead. When the show wasn't picked up, Desilu edited parts of the pilot into a comedy anthology pilot starring Victor Borge. The edited version is on YouTube.

I think the pilot seems kind of great, but I don't think it would have had mainstream success in 1962. When the pilot didn't sell, costar Jimmy Garrett was cast as Lucy's son on The Lucy Show.
