So, I just tried to add "The Perks Of Being a Wallflower" into my DVD queue. I was successful in doing this, but when I looked at my queue, under availability, it said long wait. The question that I am wondering is this, if it says that it is going to be a "long wait" how long is that. Would I have to wait a long time for it, or should I not hold my breath and find another means to see it? (On Demand or Itunes etc?)

I've had "Long Waits" that came in a week. Others for me took 2-3 months.

If I keep that particular movie on the number one spot, will it just send me the next available disc on my queue, or is my queue essentially frozen until I get Perks of Being A Wallflower (since that is on my number one spot.)

^I've had similar experiences, some "long waits" come in less than a week. Other can take months. I remember when the final season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA was released on DVD, I waited a couple of months for the DVDs and finally gave up and bought them on Amazon.

It will give you the next available. I always keep my "long wait"s in the top spot. Like others have said, they can come in a week or a few months.

Hmmm I've never used Red Box before, but I always like free things. Do you need a subscription with them or do you just go to the kiosk and get a movie?

You can just go up to the box and use it. Just a warning though with the free deal. I'm assuming they'll probably want you to swipe a credit card to charge you if you don't return it the very next day.

Moromonphobic, you always have to use a credit card to rent at redbox, regarless of the free promo. When you get to check out and before you swipe your card, you will see a spot on the bottom to add promo code. Then you enter the code. You will know if it has taken if the amount of rental is zero. Then you swipe your card. Of course, they will charge you if you return late or not at all. If you have multiple credit cards, you can use the same code I gave above on other credit cards. PM me if you want some more free codes.

The problem with Netflix is that their business model allows a user to keep a disc as long as they want. This creates problems with new titles. I have had Mad Men Season 5 in Position 1 on "Very Long Wait" for several weeks.

I also don't think that their software has any "favored user" designation. For example, I turn my discs within a day. Their software should recognize that I turn them over quickly and ship my requests faster than someone who keeps their discs for weeks.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

A few years ago Netflix was sued over part of their business model. New members were being given preference over old members when it came to receiving popular films and new releases. There was an out-of-settlement where members where given a free one month upgrade to the next level of membership but you had to request it and then you had to cancel the upgrade after the one month period or you would start being charged at the upgrade level.
