Did anyone see this last night? I thought I had imagined the whole thing but clips are on YouTube.
I was appalled (in the best possible way) and wonder what horrified other people the most: Toby Keith singing about beheading supreme court judges who want to separate church'n'state or John Legend turning Nutmeg into a filthy filthy thing.

I'm not entirely sure that I'll EVER be able to drink eggnog with nutmeg again, thanks to that song. I love me some John Legend and by god that was funny.
How about Elvis Costello vs. The Bear? That was pretty fantastic.

I thought it was irreverent, silly and tacky. I LOVED IT!!!
***SPOILER***
My favorite was Willie Nelson as a Wise Man singing about bringing the Baby Jesus pot...and then getting arrested at the Nativity Set atop the piano!

We were singing "Worse Things to Believe In" for the rest of the night!
When Willie got "taken into custody," my daughter asked, "Why are the police doing that to him?" And my very "I like to give kids correct and clinic straight talk" Baby Daddy says, "That's because he was in possession of marijuana." "MARIJUANA? What's THAT????" she asked. "It sounds funny!"
I have done such a good job of shielding my children, haven't I?

Posted: 11/25/08 at 9:00amYeah. I mean, he was obviously lip-synching (not particularly well, at times), but that was his actual voice. He's a pretty decent singer.

Posted: 11/25/08 at 6:55pmIt was amazing. I'm actually re-watching it right now. The returning mistletoe gag was funny, the songs were enjoyable, and it had that great Colbert feel. I'm pretty sure I know what a few people are getting from me for Christmas this year...

You know, the songwriting team is the same pair that wrote Cry-Baby - the lyricist being a headwriter on The Daily Show (at least according to the NYTimes).
I loved it, and watching it yet again!
