I honestly don't remember how I found this site, but I roamed for a while (3 or 4 months) before deciding to join (and, lose all of my free time in the process)

I think people who cared about the green girl would've been members of the board already. And that's just a one time thing. I agree w/ the poster who said a big influx in June.

Somehow my friend knew about this site and told me to check it out. She said I would love it. Turns out, she was sick of me talking about Broadway to her. Oh well though, now I can tell her about random threads when I'm mad at her, lol. But it is nice to talk to people who don't cringe when the word "Broadway" comes up.

A most ingenious paradox.

Someone posted this site on the official Hairspray board. Ever since, I've never posted on that board.

Originally came to BWW for the radio. Started posting because someone I did a show with who had never even heard A Tale of Two Cities was saying bad things about it, and I wanted to find people who had actually seen and heard it to get their opinions. Though my first post was on a Guys and Dolls thread. I must have gotten distracted.

Well... I'm a life-long musical theatre fan, and have been online for years, but never put the two together until I discovered the Avenue Q cast album last May. Looking for Q info online, I found their official site, started lurking the boards there, then joined the boards there last July. I honestly don't remember how I found BWW, but it was probably around the same time; I know I lurked here for months and months until January, when I finally took the plunge and signed up and started posting. (LOL, I guess I'm part of the January influx, although the only green character involved was Nicky.)

I was always on broadway.com and playbill.com and somehow I ended up getting linked to an article here. I discovered all the articles here, and then one day I ventured into the Message Board and read, then joined. It took me about a month to venture into the OT board...

My first post was a short-lived thread I started about Gilbert and Sullivan....

I always read playbill.com and broadway.com and found an article that the original Rent cast might do the movie, got soo excited, called my friend and we checked imdb.com and the message board had a link to some of Anthony's first posts here. I, too, lurked for a while, realizing I loved all the other posts in addition to this, then posted a teeny bit, now I'm at the point where I post a lot.

And I think the influx of posters in early Jan. that BSo was referring to did involve the Green Girl, but not specifically that she leaving...the day she got hurt, we certainly received a huge influx, though I'm not sure how many of those stuck around.

Eeeeek! I just realized I joined during the first week of January. But I promise *raises right hand* that I did NOT join because of THAT. And I had been lurking for a long time (2 or 3 months). I believe that there was a post that I had to respond to.

I hope my joined date does not scar me forevever. re: A graph of people registering with BWW

Found this site while looking for reviews of Broadway shows in August. I stuck to the Main Board for a month or two, then ventured onto the off topic board just as the election campaigns were heating up. I lurked daily and was quite taken by personalities. Immediately fell in love with Plum and Rath! Finally screwed uo the courage to join and post in December (I'm shy). The addiction continues..............

I joined to see what people were saying about Randy Harrison in Wicked but didn't post. Then I didn't come back to the site until I got into Bare. It's sucked many hours of my life ever since then. re: A graph of people registering with BWW

A lurker friend of mine gave me the link to Rent Movie Script thread (later to spawn the "Welcome Anthony Rapp!" thread), as she knew I wanted to know more about the movie. I've been hooked ever since.

I was searching for stuff on the Rent movie, I wasn't really interested at the time, but then my voice teacher (who happens to post here) recommended I join.

My boyfriend had been a member for a while and he suggested that, as much as I care about theatre, I might enjoy being a part of a site like this -and I must admit that there are days when it's been a real Godsend for me, just knowing there are others out there who have the same passion for theatre that I have always had and hope to have for the rest of my life.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Star2b was right -

The first week of January, when a certain lead was leaving a certain show, there were lots of people who joined (and have since never come back...)

If you look around for all those threads about her getting hurt, leaving the show, who's replacing her, etc. you will see a lot of people who joined that first week.

As for me, I joined back in 2003, to ask a question about something - don't even remember. (I was linked here about a news article.) Then, I came back here, signed up as BSoBW but must have mistyped the password because I couldn't log in again. Then, I signed up as BSoBW2.

Greetings all. I'm back for a short time. But I remember being a long time reader of this site, and I finally joined at the beginning of the year. Not because of the GreenGirlMadness, but I like voicing my opinion as everyone else does. Hurrah!

I seem to remember an email going around about the site being launched and it being connected to DOTV somehow ... ?

I post more frequently now than ever for some reason.
