Just watched this on demand and wasn't a fan. Despite two (unsurprisingly) strong performances from Robin Wright and Naomi Watts, the whole movie felt completely ridiculous in the way it unfolded. None of it felt believable or genuine, and its directed and written without any shred of camp, humor, or lightness. It's all presented so damn seriously. Too damn seriously. So seriously that I frankly got bored about 30 minutes in. And stayed bored for the rest of the film. Some of the writing also verges on the set-up for a porn scene at times. Also, for a movie that treads along so slowly, the ending seemed incredibly rushed to me, with no real closure for the audience or the characters on screen.
It's shot nicely, with plenty of beautiful scenery and some steamy sex (but not enough, for such a scintillating premise), and the performances are uniformly good. It's just a shame the execution is so shoddy. An intriguing premise and two talented leading ladies are pretty much wasted here. Don't worry about rushing out to go see this one. But if you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I saw this today with a friend and we both thought it was pretty awful.
The plot had such potential for being an outrageously campy romp- two best friend mothers F*CKing each others sons- but it's neither provocative nor lurid and tawdry.
The only thing that was ridiculous was the way the characters reacted towards each other. Everyone was so complacent and nonchalant about the situation. Friendships were never tested, the characters rarely fought, no one seemed to have much guilt or hesitation about what was going on.
Naomi Watts and Robin Wright are good actresses, but their performances aren't all that great in this.
A big disappointment.
