The second picture is the back of the building my studo is located in in DUMBO. Haven't been there yet but I am very afraid of what I will find tomorrow.
The photos of the smoldering embers in Breezy Point, Queens look like the end of the world.
The photos of the nurses and rescue workers make me cry. With gratitude.
Spent many summers in Breezy point. There were a lot of simple wood framed bungalos out there. ZI am sure over the years they were winterized but I can see them going up like a tinderbox given the right consditions.
Those are some impressive pictures, many scary, many heartbreaking.
Went to the studio today. The building is still closed due to there being no electricity. I think the city has asked them to keep it closed because the National Guard is stationed out front protecting the one undamaged power station next door that supplies electricity to Upper Manhattan and brooklyn.
