I was talking about threads becoming purely6 entertainment when their original intent was to provoke discussion, understanding, and new ideas. This thread has been a source of discussion. It hasn't turned into "Who is the hotest board member, or an endless string of jokes that have progressively less and less to do with the original post." This is a response to your original post, not a threadjack to avoid your original idea.

If a passive aggressive person punctuates his passive aggression with a smiley face icon, is that an automatic shield that prevents him from being called on his passive aggression?

OR, if a person writes something that utterly lacks logic, is the person who calls him on it the perpetrator of abuse? Or worse, a HATE CRIME?

i've never seen such viciousness (well not in the last few minutes anyway). cwtb, i suggest that you report this to the moderators immediately. then your next move would be to start a new thread in which you can discuss how to deal with the aftermath of such wanton cruelty and solicit opinions about such heinous behavior.

Perhaps you just need to be sensitized? Mary_Ellen's incredibly poignant story of survival, (for surely that is what she is more than a victim, A SURVIVOR of incredibly vicious abuse) has demonstrated for me what delicate, fragile creatures we human beings are. How easily damaged and bruised and virtually destroyed the human being, a veritable hot house flower, is, and if we are not part of the solution, the tattle and retribution cycle being just one important part, then we are all part of the problem. I am sure that you see that now, NotThatGirl and are ready to do your part in the closure and the healing.

I know. Heavy on the avoidance. I've grown so much. I've opened. I've closed. I've healed. You helped too, Lookatme. Made me see things from different angels.

And whoever said Google can be a dangerous thing is right. It just contributes to the avoidance.
