Aeon Flux

Anyone going? Not pre-screened for critics, always a good sign.
PEACE.

re: Aeon Flux

I want to go see it. I loved the cartoon on MTV years ago.

Liquid TV? Loved it. Going tonight.

re: Aeon Flux

Yeah, I miss LIQUID TV...but the original was so bizzare, I doubt it'll be faithful to the animated shorts. I remember one where she was going through a city where a virus was causing people to squeeze little bugs out of open wounds....there was a guy who took off a band aid, squeezed a bug into a glass, then put some of the pus onto a cracker and ate it....SO WEIRD!!!!

re: Aeon Flux

So, I have a "friend" who was in Chinatown today. "She" decided to play video Russian Roulette and pay $5 for a copy of Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire. "She" ended up with a copy of Aeon Flux...lol. Serves "her" right. Thank gosh it wasn't "me." :/

re: Aeon Flux

I was bored last night, a friend and I went to go see some random movies in a row. was the first one, and let me tell you... This is the worst movie of the year. Worse than Kingdom of Heaven, worse than The Fog, worse than all of them. There was not one minute of suspense of interest in the whole, damn thing. These are easily the worst performances that Theron or Frances McDormand have ever given. Did they REALLY need the paycheck THAT badly? It was crap. It was terrible. Okay, I'm done.

Thankfully, Saw II was surprisingly good. It was MUCH better than the original, with better acting, better writing, and better direction. And a lot of gratuitous gore on top of it. I liked it.

Don't worry, I didn't pay for either of them. I get free passes.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

re: Aeon Flux

What's amazing to me is how Yahoo News is referring to it as a "flop" because it came in SECOND (with $13 million) at the box office. It just opened on Friday - how the hell can they classify it already?? Perhaps if it came in 8th or 10th, but even so, who knows what the DVD will do?

Whoops. I usually remember that...

The movie still sucks.

re: Aeon Flux

Rath, most movies lose a ton of money after their first weekend, action and sci-fi movies even more so. Making $20 million or so in your first 2 weeks of wide release just ain't that good. Especially with a $62 million production budget.

Broadway86, I thought better of you. Weird grammar mistake to make...

But oh well...I'll go be grammar Nazi to people who actually deserve it. And your grammar is normally lovely....

re: Aeon Flux

I thought Aeon Flux was ok. I'd never seen the original series on MTV though, so I had no basis for comparison. It wasn't great, but it was generally amusing.

Why are many people on this board so obsessed with grammar and spelling errors? What's the deal?

Don't know how that happened. Thanks, paradox. I corrected it.

re: Aeon Flux

The worst movie of the year. I can't believe I wasted a free movie ticket on this. It was simply terrible. Theron (one of the best actresses of her generation---MONSTER, anyone?) was also awful. It was just a terrible, terrible movie.

I was trying to talk a friend to see it (I loved Liquid Television), but I guess I won't anymore.
