The eldest and most successful Baldwin brother, highly respected for his New York stage work and prolific film career (I’m still partial to Working Girl and Beetlejuice), Alec garnered a Golden Globe for his role as Republican network exec Jack Donaghy on NBC’s 30 Rock, which as of press time was on hiatus due to the writers strike. With no time to touch on his Emmy-nominated guest arc on Will & Grace or the many gay characters he’s played as host of Saturday Night Live (“Canteen Boy, have you ever had a mimosa?”), the 49-year-old Oscar nominee and I dredged up his own controversial “Drudge report,” mourned the loss of Halston, and looked back at the men he’s loved.
When I interviewed your brother William for The Advocate on his Dirty Sexy Money role, I asked him who’d get the hottest guys if the Baldwin brothers were gay. He replied, “Me, because I’ve always gotten the hottest chicks.” How do you respond?
Well, you know, Billy’s been in L.A. and out in the sun too long, so we have to allow that he’s lost touch with reality. Billy certainly has his following now from his show, but I’ve had my gay following for a long time. Billy didn’t have a book written about him.

I enjoyed the interview, but the airbrushed picture of him that accompanied it was scary. Alec is fine as he is!

I liked his answer but absolutely hated the interviewer's ridiculous questions. I understand it's a gay magazine but come on...

The only interview question I'd have for Alec Baldwin would be to ask if I could lick him.
Alec Baldwin was in love with my mom in college. True story.
Alec is great. I love it when he hosts SNL. He has a great sense of humor and his role on 30 Rock could not have been played by anyone else. He has created such a great character. Would have loved to see him play Halston. Alec plays gay very well.
Him, Tina Fey, and Jane Krakowski make 30 ROCK. I loved him when he was having an affair with Edie Falco's role, and his exchanges with Coleen are HILARIOUS ("mother, you carried me for nine months, now let me carry you...no, mother, I'm not ON anything"). He's also great playing against Will Artnet's gay executive.
Acting-wise, Baldwin was very good in ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE, but on a more personal level, I didn't like hearing about the way he treated Jan Maxwell during the production.
I think everyone on 30 Rock makes the show. I am also a big fan of Kenneth's. There should be a site devoted to just to his quotes.
"Oh I don't drink coffee. Thats the devil's temperature."
-Kenneth-
Kenneth: "Mr. Jordan himself said, “Don’t let no one in who’s not on the list because this mess is gonna get raw, like sushi. So haters to the left”.
Oh I forgot about Kenneth. He rocks the rock. I loooooooved the last pre-strike episode when he decided to leave to Georgia and the whole cast (including Edie Falco and Baldwin) had a big production number to "Midnight Train to Georgia." The rock is easily the best comedy on TV right now.
Kenneth is a cutie...I can never resist a nebbish
I really liked what Alec had to say about his brother Stephen's rant on gay marriage.
Oh, and WannaBe while I truly admire Baldwin as an actor, it does upset me that he is rumored to have such an awful off-stage personality, especially since Jan Maxwell is a class act.
I wonder how the obnoxious Matt Drudge reacted to the article.
Perhaps he was going through divorce-related issues during the Maxwell situation.

Hmmm....Alec Baldwin agrees to an interview with The Advocate but has been ignoring my requests for an article at BWW.
I'd agree he is a great talent, but with some personal demons: that phone rant to his daughter, some stuff about Basinger (though she's no prize in even temper either), the Maxwell stuff.
Still, there are few actors who can pull off the kind of stuff he does on 30 ROCK, showed glimpses of in SLOANE, and played very well on JACK & KAREN (how you were never sure if he was chasing Will himself or Karen, even after the "reveal"). Amazing skills.
That being said, I've always liked both Billy and Stevie Baldwin though. Some skill and the visuals are great. Loved how they both played non-monogamous straights in menage a trois movies (THREE OF HEARTS and THREESOME, the latter more appealing because Stevie played str8-not-narrow). Apparently, however, Alec is the intellectual of the brood.
