How can a movie about wonder be so devoid of any?

This is just pathetic. Can Johnny depp just retire?

I'm not sure if a number of you posters have actually seen the movie in question. I caught it yesterday and can honestly say it's exhausting and bloated, but it's not all that much worse than the first Wonderland movie. There are a handful of well-wrought scenes of surreal fantasy (owing absolutely zero to the writings of Lewis Carroll), a handful of British actors chewing the scenery like they're in a Christmas Panto, and an avalanche of grotesque CGI that threatens to overwhelm the screen in nearly every frame. Oh, and Johnny Depp? I dunno, he just seems to be playing a kabuki drag queen in every role these days, this one no worse than his last dozen or so appearances. (Did you see him in Black Mass? I rest my case.)

And the only reason he "worked" as Captain Jack Sparrow. Play to your strengths Johnny. U need the $$ to pay yer spousal support.
