Why isn't that you don't ever seem to actually own any of your own experiences and ideas, RTFan? You've noticed that "some people's allergies have started" and you're wondering if "other people" are having problems? What, are you writing a book?
If you are having allergy problems, why don't you come right out and say so? Is it because you know Jesus is punishing you with them because of your judgmental ways?
Mine actually have not been too bad here in the Ohio Valley, but some of my co-workers are going nuts with problems.
A lot of people think that certain kinds of weather make your allergies better or worse, which is actually mostly untrue. Changes in weather trigger allergy symptoms, so the reason a lot of people haven't been feeling well these past few days is probably the drastic change from all of that rain to really nice, sunny days.
The tree and grass allergy season is upon us! I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get it bad this year.
P.S. emcee-it's not weather that affects allergy sufferers, it's growth in our environment-i.e. pollen, mold spores, trees, grass, etc.

There are other options for dealing with allergies besides superstitions.

Well, Jane can cross her fingers and you can hope all you want, RTFan, but if Jesus is going to punish you for your multitude of sins, there's nothing you can do about it.

Too bad you refuse to look at the root causes, which is your sin. Remember, you can't spell "repent" without "RT."
Right, Jane, but changes in exposure those things are all wrapped up in weather changes, so that's just a simpler way of putting it.
I meant to say that you feel worse after a drastic change than you do while enduring a certain "type" of weather.
mine aren't that bad... yet.
right next to my bed there's a window, and right outside that windwo is a dogwood tree that's ready to bloom. i'm not looking forward to that.
It wasn't too bad until today . . . I can't breathe.

Amanda, my allergies have actually gotten worse. However if you are in need of help, nomdeplume has some great herbal remedies for allergies and their effects. There was a thread on it but I cannot seem to find it.
Oh my spring and fall allergies are HORRIBLE.
I'm allergic to grass, ragweed, trees, pollen, some types of dogs. It's so bad- I take Zyrtec and Nasonex, but my nose is like a leaky faucet for half of the year.
I live in Austin,TX--allergies ALL year 'round
Emcee, I think we're talking about two different things. I'm saying that the sufferer is allergic to certain substances no matter when they occur. Dust is always around, mold spores, pollen, and let's not forget about all the food allergies which, in a worst case scenario could cause death. We're allergic to those things despite the weather.
But I do agree that severe weather changes can cause reactions. We're on the same page with that!
I'm having too wonderful a day!
Heh, yeah, we are, and yes, what you're saying is right on as well. I have the sorts of food allergies to which you refer, so no stranger to those, unfortunately.
speaking of food allergies...
this guy on myspace is making a children's album about food allergies. some of the songs are kind of cute

emcee, what is your worst food allergy?
Mine is sunflower seeds-I may not survive another attack from one of those.
I only have two, to dairy and peanuts, but they're both life threatening. Peanuts are "worse" because that allergy, as you probably know, is airborne, but dairy (for which I landed in the hospital about six months ago) is harder to avoid because it's in more stuff.
Oh, sorry. Yes, I can relate. sometimes I forget to look on labels or ask questions in restaurants, and I'll ingest part of a seed and land in the hosptial also. It's scary, isn't it.
i have a list of resturaunts by state somewhere that say which resturaunts are careful about cross contamination and cater to the food allergy community. the only one i know off the top of my head is elaine's in ct since that's where i eat every few weeks.
i'll have to look for it... it may be on my laptop which is currently un-usable untill late next week.
if i find it i can pm it to both of you.
i have alot of food allergies but i only get a reaction if i eat them. although my allergies are not the same as regular food allergies. my allergies are called eosinophilic disorder... it's a little complicated.
thanks, Abba. My food allergies aren't airborne either.
Right when I was done with my winter colds, I started allergies. Then, my cold came back, and I had them both at the same time. It was horrible.
No need to apologize.
I've only had to go to the hospital once, thankfully. I'm careful to the point of being neurotic, and my parents taught me really well from the time I was a toddler. Eating out is a nightmare, though. It's frightening, but I've adapted pretty well.
My allergies, on top of the fact that I"m sick, are really bad right now.
