Absolutely appalling. There is absolutely no question - why anyone would brutally murder an innocent animal for a pair of nasty shoes is something I will NEVER understand.

Not, for me at least. i do wear leather, so it's not about the ethics (though i guess cows will never actually be endangered). i just think of alligator shoes being both too shiny and too pointy (especially on men). i think alligator purses look classy, though.

They're only okay if they're Ferragamo and you have them in two shades of brown, one pair of black, and a nice green pair. (Don't ask.)

Well in my opinion, there's no difference between a cow and an alligator. Both are dying unnecessarily, both experience pain, and both are being made into shoes or belts. It sickens me.

I absolutely agree with Munk.

Just one point though.... Alligators are not endangered. They are even shot in the South because there are too many of them.

yeah, maybe very good fake alligator or crocodile is the answer. Or if there's a way to guarantee the hides are used only from those who die by natural causes (as opposed to the animals being hunted for their skin). In the case of cows, i'm guessing after one is raised for meat, the hide is used for leather---as opposed to hunting a wild one down to make wallets. i'm not saying it's right, but it seems better somehow to me.

I don't really care for alligator or snake skin shoes because I picture the animal alive with it's skin on. I don't do that with leather for some reason. I can't wear cloth or vinyl shoes, nope.
