Ha, I can handle her for singing for a minute once a week. Spending time with her? No way.
Anyone else impressed with the girl singing "Turn the Beat Around"?

Just started watching. Ouch.
Well "Take A Little Piece of my Heart" wasn't bad. Generic, but not bad.

I thought Piece of My Heart was dreadful. Janis is rolling over in her grave as I type this. One should only attempt a song like that ONLY if one can sing it better or with more heart and soul than the original. She didn't.
And is it my imagination, or are there serious pitch problems going on tonight with more than a couple of contestants?

Posted: 3/1/05 at 9:00pmWell, no one's particularly shining from either gender, but TWO people mangled Alicia Keys tonight, and that killed me. Piece of my Heart wasn't that bad compared to them, and whatever that Aloha attempted.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 9:06pmI DO NOT like Mikalah's voice. I have nothing against her, I just don't like the sound of her voice. I really like Carrie. I was sad the judges didn't like her as much this time.
Wishes come true, not free.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 9:08pmAs far as I'm concerned, the only two female performers with star quality are Mikilah and Nadia. I'm not talking strictly voice quality. I'm talking the whole package. Voice, personality, confidence, stage presence, originalty, etc.

Only voted for one girl tonight: Mikilah.
Love this girl and she really knows what she's doing. "God Bless The Child" is one of my favorite songs, so it was a delight to hear her rendition.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 9:16pmI just saw Jessica, she sang "Broken Wing." Did I miss something? She was amazing? What?!

Posted: 3/1/05 at 10:33pmI am not really a fan of any of the girls. I hate mikalah!! I thought carrie ruined little piece of my heart which is sad since i liked her last week. Nadia was ok but again not as good as last week. I think i am alone but i liked aloha's performance. Oh and Jessica wasn't bad.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 10:35pmI didn't think Piece of my Heart was stellar; Her tone was okay, the delivery was pretty uncharismatic...I thought she sounded okay, but not a stand out. I still found her better than Aloha (well, at least the clip of her at the end). I'll rewatch it again on the west coast.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 10:40pmthe think with little piece was that to me it sounded so country. I really don't think that song should be covered at all. I love Janice so so much! as for aloha, she reminds me of my friend and so i think i am somewhat biased. I don't think tonight was stellar at all.

Definitely not. I didn't think it could get any worse than the boys last night but...
The Top 12 will probably be pretty dismal.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 10:46pmI really don't think any of them are that bad, the songs that they are choosing are horrible. I think if I was on that show, I would be picking songs that showed me off, that blew people away. Some of these are like they picked the song 5 minutes before the show.

Posted: 3/1/05 at 11:06pmI have loved Carrie from her initial audition, but I thought tonight was a bad song choice. She still sounded good, but it wasn't exciting.
