Too bad Jemele Hill isn't as classy. She is using this to get her own name out in the press! Acts like this are supposed to be unreported. They are done for love and respect.
Amy said "it was always something I wanted to do". I'm glad it worked out, and the soldier accepted the seat. There was no need for the reporter to tweet it. I'm sure Amy felt great without any accolades needed.
Exactly Daisy, my point EXACTLY! It was only the reporter that wanted the notoriety.

I don't know. There's THREE pages of an incident of poor celebrity behavior on the main page. I'd much rather hear about this.
It's much less trivial.

I don't know. It was kind-hearted and generous thing to do. "Classy" is just such a Trumpified word.
Ghostlight, sometimes people wish to do do kind things because it makes them feel good. To REPORT on it to make your name trending after a # is downright unscrupulous. She did it quietly, quickly for a reason. Made her feel good, something she always wanted to do WITHOUT FANFARE.nThere are douche bags out there now who will be EXPECTING her to do it every time.
There have been numerous times when I have done good deeds for people that they were never aware of. Why? It made me feel good, it made them happy and there was never a sense of obligation.

I hear you. I often do the same, SNAFU. Do some small kindness for a stranger or colleague. Sometimes I manage it covertly, sometimes I'm found out. I do get embarassed, but I don't get upset about it. It doesn't seem like Ms Adams is upset about it becoming news, just embarrassed by the attention, maybe. Sure, it's gossip, but it doesn't seem like that big a deal to her either way. Her act of kindness is in no way cheapened.
There will always be douchebags out there. Who cares what they expect? It makes me feel good to know that some celebrities are kind and simple.
Meanwhile, we're up to 4 pages discussing a celebrity who is probably mentally ill, and definitely needs help of some kind. I don't see how that kind of gossip benefits anyone at all.
Obviously Adams was trying to be discreet, but that doesn't always work out. Whether the reporter in question was trying to elevate her own profile or simply to highlight Adams' kind gesture doesn't really matter. To concur with ghostlight2, I'd much rather read about this than Shia's continued assholery.
One thing's for sure: Amy Adams is a special person.
Oh, that she is. No question about it!

She makes Mother Teresa look like Xaviera Hollander.
