A pity this abusive thread had to go. On the other hand maybe Chanticleer will go and hang himself now...

"Can one of the BWW elite please tell me how I'm supposed to feel about it?"
The way you should feel is: "Meh".

Well, as a human being I'm glad you're still alive. Just listen to cast albums and leave us alone with your love for Joe Lieberman

Joe's one of the biggest LIBS in America. I'm just an observer along to watch for the fun of it.
I prefer "Crazy Mc-K"

You could take the Michael Moore "Evita-esque" approach:
"Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war."

He's liberal on SOME social issues and so slavishly supportive of Bush's failed Iraq policies that Karl Rove said this today:
===
HOTLINE ON CALL

Rove Calls Lieberman?
That's what ABC's George Stephanopoulos reports.
According to a close Lieberman adviser, the President's political guru, Karl Rove, has reached out to the Lieberman camp with a message straight from the Oval Office: "The boss wants to help. Whatever we can do, we will do."

Actually, I was talking to Batman while reading the latest from PRAVDA-they have very positive coverage of Lamont. In fact, they even have a picture (obviously photo-shopped from AL-Reuters) of Lamont with Uncle Joe Stalin. There's another photo from the Treason Times (obviously photo-shopped from AL-Reuters) of Lamont with Castro. There's another photo (A real one this time) of Lamont with Cindy Sheehan. Yip! Yip! Yahoo!
Pravda also says that this is supposed to be a happy day for all liberals since one of the patron saints was moved from unknown liberal, to cut and run liberal candidate for the cut and run party. The Times also says that the troops are coming home today because the American people have spoken.
The troops are coming home today, aren't they?
The democrats have given America a gift: they have shown their true colors

"The troops are coming home today, aren't they?"
He writes that as if it would be a bad thing. Don't he and his war-mongering talk radio heroes realize what the dead 2591 American soldiers were? Fully realized human stem cells.

My initial reaction, though I haven't read too much on the subject, is that this is potentially very bad for the Dems. What are our goals?
If our goals are to make a point that if you support the war, you could go down, then this is great news. However, ONLY IF that nets control of Congress is that good news. Because only then will any change be able to take place. If the GOP maintains control, it will be the same status quo downward spiral to hell that we are on most likely.
If our goals are to take back Congress, then I think this is actually very bad news: the GOP could take the seat from a split vote OR Lieberman could still win and while that may be much better than another GOP taking the seat, it doesn't help the Dems take control.
Those in control dictate what actually gets done (or not done as is often the current case).
