What do you think would happen if a presenter on an awards show announced the wrong name? With a loose cannon like Kanye West, do you ever think it would happen?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Rumor has it that Jack Palance did exactly that when he announced Marisa Tomei's win for My Cousin Vinnie.

I not only think the rumor false, but also believe that Marisa deserved the oscar.

^except there are people that KNOW the results. Do you really think they'd just let it slide, uncorrected?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

It happened at my high school: the year after I graduated, everyone was sure Miss A would be crowned homecoming queen. So the teacher doing the announcing simply named her as the winner without opening the envelope. And the elaborate ceremony commenced and Miss A was crowned.

Unfortunately, Miss B had actually won.

So they played the second half of the game, then went through the crowning ceremony again, UNcrowning Miss A and crowning Miss B instead.

I don't believe any announcer made that mistake again.
