I'm listening to TVLand from the other room while I'm cruising the boards, and I jusr realized this one also has a fun singing surprise - and not the one you think, although I believe Jim Nabors' voice is revealed in this one.

I'm going to admit one of my most horrible guilty pleasures now.
Somehow or other, I ended up with a CD of Andy Griffith singing a bunch of old gospel songs. I think it was a joke gift or something. But those were the songs I grew up hearing in church every Sunday, so believe it or not, there's something very comforting about hearing Andy Griffith sing them. So I've played it more times than I'll admit. One or two might have even found their way on my iPod.
Confession over.

Calvin, I had forgotten about that - I do remember he made one. Also, some of my favorite parts of the show were when they were sitting on the front porch and he'd pull out his guitar. A summer night in the country on an old-fashioned front porch - could anything be better? Andy Griffith has a wonderfully soothing voice, if I remember. I'm going to look for that cd - those old songs are beautiful. I'm also now watching for the episodes I was talking about.
And thank you for posting to this thread. I had just been thinking it's pretty funny to start a thread that no one else posts on - although my message was transitory, so I expected that might happen. Instead, you reminded me of that recording. Did you ever hear the cd soundtrack of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" There is awesome stuff on that!
