How much do you love this book? I LOVE it. The only thing I didn't like that I could think of was when the pig climbed up a tall ladder to paint on the farm walls..then it got a bit much for me. I especially like the part though when Clover is on the hill with some other animals and she starts thinking about the way things were SUPPOSED to be as to what they are now and she starts singing "Beasts of England". Believe it or not I almost cried.

But some animals are more equal than others.

Kill the Pigs. Eat them is what I was saying through the entire book.

I like Animal Farm much better than 1984. 1984 was so graphic.

This is a cool book, but really- pigs building electronic milking machines? Come on. It has a good message though.

I should have read Animal Farm before 1984 because the entire time I was thinking "This is the same as 1984" and I kept making unnecessary 1984 references. But alas that is not how my school system works SO.

Prisoner 24601-that's what makes it satirical. It parodys a situation to a ridiculous extreme to make a comment about society.

Ok. Someone needs to pull me out of AP English now.

I preferred 1984. It's my favourite book. Animal Farm had a good message, but I found 1984 to be a more compelling read.

I hated Animal Farm. I read it a very long time ago, though, so I might have to read it again.

See I just can't decide which one I like more. I'm leaning more towards 1984 but I think George Orwell was SOOOOO uniqley clever with the way he set up the stereo types in animals to match humans..

I love Orwell. Really. 'Nuff said.

I first read it when I was too young to get the historical analogues, but I liked it anyway.

...Yes, I was a strange 10-year-old. And my dad's Complete Orwell looked too good to resist.

Yeah, that was like me and "Jane Eyre". I read it in 6th grade, and strangely enough, enjoyed it.

Animal Farm does prove a strong point. I guess I kept comparing it to Babe and Charlotte's Web too much. Orwell knew what he was talking about.
