Ann Coulter's Latest Controversy May Have News Shows Rethinking About Booking Her

NEW YORK - Ann Coulter has been a reliable name for years among people who plan television news shows an attractive, articulate blonde conservative who's made a living lobbing verbal bombs.
Following her use of a gay slur about Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards this month during remarks to the Conservative Political Action Conference, some on TV are wondering whether her shelf life is expiring.
Many were angered by her use of the "f-word". Coulter later said she considered it a "schoolyard taunt." She said it was a joke about "Grey's Anatomy" actor Isaiah Washington saying he would seek counseling after using the word to refer to a fellow actor.
At least four daily newspapers have dropped Coulter as a columnist, citing her comment about Edwards.

I can't say I am sad about this.
You reap what you sow. It's nice to see that her type of behavior will not be condoned or tolerated. Maybe she'll learn from this and seek some humility and in turn keep her big trap shut.

I would still prefer that she be allowed to spew away - in fact, I'd encourage it. The more outrageous, the better - and her vitriol should be attached to ALL conservatives, just like many on the right like to claim that Michael Moore speaks for all Liberals.

The thing is -- the newspapers that carry her columns aren't exactly Tier 1 markets. I mean -- New Braunfels, Texas? I like Schlitterbaun and river rafting as much as anybody, but I don't read the paper when I'm there.
I'd imagine the number of people who rely on newspapers to read her column is a fraction of those who seek her out online or on television. I'd be willing to bet if all 100 papers dropped her, we'd still be seeing her thanks to Joseph Farah and Sean Hannity and her never-ending line of error-ridden books.
