And speaking of Anorexia Nervosa Zellwegger, when she gained weight for Bridget Jones, she was described in one British magazine as being a "whopping size 14". 14 in British sizes is about as far from whopping as you can get. It's so wrong. And it's not just an American thing.

Let me translate that for the American girls... That is around a size 6! I can't believe that was said b/c I bought some size 14s over there, and though I am not always happy with my body, I am anything but whopping!

Jesu! A size 6 is tiny. I work in department stores and it's considered a small. (Someone correct me if my memory is bad, it could be the smallest medium sizes, but I think it's a small.)

Zellweger was a 14/6 in Bridget Jones? I dunno about a 6; I'm a 6 (well, depending on where I'm shopping) and she looked a size or two bigger than that. Not that she looked fat; I think she looked a lot better with a body.
Kate Winslet...I could go on and on about what a brilliant and BEAUTIFUL actreess she is.

Rose, I think she just holds her weight differently. That combined with her clothing and how skinny we are used to seeing her, could account for that. Plus, isn't she short?

I remember in the first movie when they show her weight its usually between 135-140 lbs, so a 6 sounds pretty much right.

I also read that Liv Tyler said she doesn't feel right if she's not around 150 lbs. Remember, she's 5'10. Mia's about 170 (could have changed, I haven't seen a picture in awhile) and is 5'7. I love every last Tyler- they all speak their mind and don't give a crap about what Hollywood thinks.

It's not just Hollywood's fault, it is every single person that prepetuates this anorexic-ideal female figure.

When I was 8 years old, my grandmother took me aside and told me that I was so pretty, if only I would lose some weight. I'd post a picture of me at age 8 if I had one available, but I was not heavy, I wasn't chubby, I wasn't even overweight. What she said still haunts me to this day and I refuse to be alone in a room with my grandmother, for fear of what she'll say now.

I watched Celebrity Fit Club, and was really bothered that they considered a woman of 150 lbs to be in the same category as 400+ lb Ralphie and in need of professional help.

Kate Winslet is gorgeous and an amazing actress, I've loved every movie I've seen her in. I also love her because she's publically said she would never use Botox or anything like that, because she thinks that aging is natural and beautiful.

Lots of older people tend to be very weight conscious. I found this book on beauty at my grandmother's house from the sixties and it was rediculous. They gave exact weights for what was considered to be beautiful and how to allure men by eating salads and such. How could people limit themselves to something so horrible only to look like a cardboard cut out? There is no weight or size that defines beauty. Beauty comes from being healthy and happy with yourself.

As long as you like how you are skittles, your grandma's opinion shouldn't matter.

I can't belive that some people consider a size 6 to be huge. Size 6 from what I heard it a small. God why is Hollywood so messed up?
I love that Liv Tyler dosn't want to be a skinny twig. I was reading a interview with her and she was saying how she was turned away from parts in movies because she was considered fat by the people there. I hope hollywood's ideal weight will swing into the healthy area.

Kate Winslet is amazing! I don't understnad what the facination with really really thin women is... most of my friends and blokes i've spoke to think Renee was far more attractive when she was in Bridget than Chicago! CZJ looked amazing in Chicago... she's text book classic beauty!

When I saw Renee at the oscars in 2004 she had all the weight for filming the second Bridget moving I thought she looked great. But now when I see her I get scared, all you see is skin and bones. CZJ however looks wonderfull and looks like she has the average weight of a woman.

Size 6? Holy cow! I wear size 8! (At Urban Outfitters)..but I guess the size differs....


And I'm all for the Catherine Zeta-Jones love. She's just...gah..beautiful. Words can't even describe it.
