Any Smashing Pumpkins Fans?

I used to listen to them when I was about 6-7 (when my brother liked them) and I downlaoded a few of their songs a couple nights ago. I must say, I had excellent taste for a 6-7 year old.

Um, wow.

Yeah, I was a fan, although Billy had a tendency to be hard to take. I think "Mellon Collie" is a masterpiece, and "Today" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Saw them on their final tour. Don't know if I like the idea of the reunion tour, especially if only Billy and Jimmy return.

I managed a big Record Store in Chicago when they were on their way up. It was rather amusing to see them grow from "just folks" to huge international superstars-- at least in their mind. James Iha was consistantly the friendliest and he won me over forever when he came in as soon as they really took off to buy the huge 16 CD Ella Fitzgerald Songbook set. What exquisite taste!

My favorite band of all time. I was at their final performance, and it was one of the greatest events I've ever witnessed.

I love the Pumpkinds, I saw them at the Allstate Arena, I think for the Mellon Collie tour! Iha used to live in the same apartment building as a friend of mine.

Objectively, I think Siamese Dream was their masterpiece, although I personally prefer Mellon Collie. The Galapogos/Muzzle/Porcelina trio is probably my favorite one-two-three punch on any album.

I'd like to see a reunion, but on the other hand, I wonder if Corgan's ego has swelled to the point that everything released would be on the same level as Machina/Zwan/Corgan solo.

He was in a film a few years ago about drug addicts; he wrote the score, had a bit part I think as a surgeon, and in one scene sings "Always".

I think he should star in Sweeney Todd!
