Why do threads die everytime I post clips of myself singing?

Ah, yes. BWW Idol.
Good times.

The good thing is, we learned who can sing.

Hah,
BSoBW2...You have full permission to do all the over-riffing jokes you want about me...for nostalgia's sake.

I am currently in a state of purging. I will not be saying anything mean. So I didn't bother listening again. Joking. The video makes all the difference.
It does??...because even I will admit that is one case of EXTREME over-riffing.

This is me.
I'm under no illusion that I'm a good singer. I know I suck ass, so I won't be offended by negative comments.

As I said in an earlier post, I did lots of show, from the age of 9 until I was 31, when I changed careers. This really lousy tape, from a rehearsal of THE FANTASTICKS, is all tha exists of anything I ever did. It has a power-hum running through it, the sound quality is fairly awful, and it's about 30 years old! Anyway, we waver on the pitch, and I miss lyrics and some timing, because we were struggling with the staging of the number, which was very complex, and was still somewhat new at the time of the recording. You'll have to take my word that we were better during the actual performances of the show. My wife is Luisa; and, although it may not seem so here, Lore Noto (the producer of the original production), claimed she was his favorite Luisa, ever! By the way, all the clips I listened to here, are excellent. Lots of talent.

JohnBoy2--You and your wife sound AMAZING!!!
Well, thank you; but you are being overly kind. Although, she was pretty amazing. A photo I posted before, my wife (the blonde) as the absolute best Hodel, ever, in FIDDLER. She was pretty great in all the shows she did. We met in a tour of NO NO NANETTE. She was Nanette and I was Tom.

"But, you are being overly kind"
No, I am serious. You wife has a GORGEOUS soprano voice and you have an AMAZING baritone voice. You may think it's "overly kind," but I highly enjoyed it.

Does anyone have any helpful comments on my singing? BTW, I recorded those a long time ago and I realize my diction is not that great.

Come on, even if your comments are negative, I want to hear them anyway.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I click on bwaylvsongs' "1940/50" link, it goes to a Billi Joel music video.
Anyway, I will listen to your "Impossible Dream" again and get back to you!
Ok, I listened to it again and you have a really good voice. The only thing that I found that you might want to work on, is that through the song, you sang too far in the back of your throat (if that makes any sense). When your notes got higher, you didn't do it as much and it sounded better. You have a great instrument there, brothah-man. Keep it up!

Thank you, spidey! That was very helpful. For the 1949/1951 link, click on the links on the link with those respective links (that didn't make sense).

Drool because it was good, it was bad, or you have no idea what I'm talking about?
Not being someone who has ever had vocal training, or can even read music, I wouldn't want to make suggestions or comments about your voice.
haha. What you put confuzzled me.
"vocal training, or can even read music"
Me neither. Whenever I give criticism, I always do it on what I hear, not with technical things.

That's okay, JohnBoy2! You may not know anything about music, but I'm sure you know whether you liked my voice or not.
