Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter are joining the cast of Glee. The actresses will play a committed lesbian couple, who become mentors to Kurt and Blaine.

Duke and Baxter will appear on the show's fourth season finale and return next season as recurring characters.

"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."

I gave it up when they Rachel Barry took Manhattan. I think I could tune back in for these gals. Maybe.

I AM!!!! Proud Gleek! I'm loving the current season, mainly for the NYC storyline and I'm beyond excited for Idina and the Funny Girl auditions this week.

Danyelleee, No I haven't heard the songs, I like to be surprised. I'm always struggling to not watch leaked or pre-released clips, had the exact same problem with Les Mis.

I'm a loyalist, so I still watch even though I find so much of it unwatchable and pedantic. Even when everyone was telling me how last weeks episode was so touching and brilliant, I was once again left annoyed and laughing at lines I'm sure were not scripted to be funny.

Hopefully a couple of old lesbians will inject so much needed freshness to the show. I could, however, stand to see MUCH less of Blaine. Murphy clearly wants in his pants so just gives him more and more each week.

Darren Criss is much featured because he has a big following, not because Murphy wants in his pants. He's a producer = business man and I doubt that he'd allow a crush on a guy half his age (which I doubt he has) to influence the direction his show takes.

TheatreFan, I absolutely agree that the show has built a much bigger fan base for Criss than he had coming in. But do you really believe Murphy is chasing that kid around the studio? C'mon.

He is basically a human rainbow, and he's one of the show's biggest cash cows. Darren's always had following going into the show, what with the StarKid productions and what have you, but being featured on Glee only added to his original popularity. I'm a fan of the guy, and having met him, he's a sweetheart and absolutely deserves the success, but I can understand the feeling that he's being over saturated.

However, as someone who is a fan of the show and around many people online who are fans of the show, any number of these cast members can feel like that. Another example - Chord Overstreet, who has actually grown on me quite a bit since he was originally introduced on the show. But, Murphy did all but fire him, so I guess he's not nearly as big a deal as some make him out to be. If there's anyone on the show who is the most overexposed it is Dame Lea, who literally has a solo or two every episode she's in.

Clumsy, I'd LOVE to see Dame Lea getting a solo or two on every episode, she's not overexposed at all! If anything we haven't seen enough of her this season, nor of Chris for that matter.

So is the cheerleader uniform on Blaine part of Murphy's fantasy? He certainly looks great in it.

I've seen enough Dame Lea to last me my entire life, in fact - if she never were to speak a word or sing a lyric again, I'd be blissfully happy. Chris Colfer, on the other hand, I adore and I miss seeing him as often as we use to.

This was after the Christmas episode aired. Damian said that he would be back on Glee but did not say when. Could something have fallen apart since then? Sure, but the last I heard which was in January was that Damian would be returning to the show. I took it to mean next season. If it were this season I don't think he would have been able to take part in the 11 day cruise or be available to appear on Paul Byrom's PBS special which filmed last month.

Damian also said my singing is "awesome" so he may just be a liar

I high doubt he'll be back, considering he's sort of yesterday's news in a sense, but from what I've gathered among spoilers and such, no mention of him has been brought up since his Christmas appearance.

I'm with ClumsyDude. I used to be fine with Lea Michele, but then they shoved her down our throats. It's rather telling when my favorite episode this season was the Christmas episode- which she was barely in.

The plots for Glee are so outlandish these days, but I mostly tune in for the songs. And I am looking forward to Idina coming back.

Do I think Murphy chases that kid around the studio? Yup, I do. I'm sure he's more subtle and lecherous about it, but I'm sure it happens in a sense.

Why is Unique on more than the winner of the "Glee Project"? I mean, I don't like any of them, but it's strange to me that the winner of that show is supposed to join the cast in a capacity and when a second or third runner up ends up with a bigger contract than the winner, that kind of makes the reality show a hoax (well, a bigger one than it actually is).

Chris Culfer; he's adorable and quite a good actor. I don't, however, need to hear him sing another note ... ever. That falsetto grates on my nerves.

Lea Michelle ... eh. Say what you will, the girl is talented. I wish she wouldn't scrunch her face up and squeeze her eyes so tightly to produce tears, but whatever ...

I don't know why I still watch the show ... it annoys me more than it entertains me, but I continue ... :)

I cheered when she left the room and never came back.

Blake Jenner, the second season winner, has had a lot more to do than Damian ever did, and I feel like Blake/Ryder is on just as much, if not more, than Alex/Unique. I enjoy both of them, and I enjoyed Damian, but I can't stand Sam Larsen.

Why is Harry Shum Jr. still in the main credits when I don't even recall him being in this season? Especially puzzling, seeing as Jayma Mays and Dianna Agron are listed as guest stars.

Then again, I've kinda lost interest, so maybe I just missed him.
