re: anyone ever been mugged?

What comes next, the thread about how the mugger used the id from your wallet to drain your bank account? Now you need your friends at BWW to take up a collection so you can pay your rent?

Erm, have I missed something here? People just share their experiences with the board, something everyone does on a daily basis. What's your problem?

Have you ever heard the Squirrel Cop episode on This American Life? I had a squirrel in my house once...no idea how it got in.... and a couple of days later heard this story on NPR. Ironic.

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Matt G,
I am glad you are ok. I was mugged for a pair of leather gloves and the women threatned my life. She was a scary tall women bigger then Harvey. I let her keep my 20 leather gloves.
It happened in a Starbucks before a theater event at La Cage.
I was waiting for my group, took off my leather gloves and put them next to me while calling someone on my cell.
She picked up my gloves and said they were hers.
I said excuse me, those are my gloves. She said they were hers and if I did not like it she would be happy to kill me.
I said keep the gloves.
She was scary and I needed to get killed over a pair of Leather Gloves. Not on my life.
re: anyone ever been mugged?
The weird thing is she did not take my cashmere Burburry scarf which was more expensive then my gloves. It was a cold day, guess she needed gloves. People are crazy to risk their lives for a pair of gloves.
I am still here. Glad you are too.

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Matt_G, so sorry to hear that, but glad you're ok.

I was mugged at the 14th Street station (F) train on a Sunday afternoon a few years ago. I had just missed the train and was walking towards the back of the station (don't ever do that). As I was sitting down, I saw some guy walking towards me and I knew right then and there I was going to get mugged. There was no way for me to get out as he was between me and the stairwell. He pulled a knife on me and took the $3 dollars I had (he didn't take my wallet). The strange thing was I was more angry than scared. I was even debating whether or not I was going to report this. As the gay pride parade was taking place outside at the time, I knew there were a lot of police around. I went upstairs and told them, and they were quite helpful. After bringing me down to the station to fill out a report, they asked if I needed a ride home (I lived in Brooklyn).

Ah, I see, Princeton, THAT'S what her problem is. I was wondering if I missed anything... re: anyone ever been mugged?

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Um, Corine, I am sure it was tragic, but what you describe is hardly a "mugging." It is more of a "I'm taking these gloves, Bitch, and there ain't nothing you can do about it." A mugging involves a real threat of danger usually with a weapon. What was this woman going to do to you in a freaking Starbucks right before show time? Were there any cops around?
And what would "a women bigger then Harvey" do with your petite little gloves, anyway?
PEACE.

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Sueleen, certainly you're not doubting the credibility of any member of this board. People wouldn't just make up a story.

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Etoile, do you ever post anything positive?

Please enlighten me.

Because all of your posts seem to be snide and/or sarcastic, at least to me.

Since you love to tell us all how beloved and trusted you are on this board, I would love to hear an honest reply, straight from the Horse's Arse...oops. I mean Mouth...

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Where did I tell anyone I was beloved and trusted on this board? Playing with words there, are you? Have you thought of a career in politics?

I asked Sueleen a question. Certainly there was nothing that was negative in it.

You do say the funnest things. How's that for being postitve, Sunshine?

re: anyone ever been mugged?

Lovely, though I'm sure I detect sarcasm somewhere in there.

And the trust comment came on the "Is there a theft among us?" thread, which has been since deleted.

I'm sure you remember writing it. I certainly remember reading it. In fact, I responded to it, but unfortunately the thread was deleted by the time I posted.

"Sueleen, certainly you're not doubting the credibility of any member of this board. People wouldn't just make up a story."

And by the way, you forgot a certain piece of punctuation that makes a question. Currently this post seems to contain a poorly written statement that is just aching to be turned into a sarcastic question.

Surely people that forget about punctuation are disabled, and sock puppets. They're probably underage as well, and their parents should not allow them to access BWW...
