My friend still has her car with those. She refuses to get rid of it. She loves that car like you wouldn't believe.

Of course! The first car I ever rode in was a Cordoba. :)

It looked like this, but was more white.

Mimeographs! I totally remember those... In elementary school, they still used 'em. The copies were always blue-ish. =)

And as for crank-down windows, some of we more economically-minded folks still choose to get cars with no power package. I bought my 2003 Saturn VUE brand-new, and it's got manual locks and manual, crank-down windows. It's also a stick-shift. =)

Anyone remember in the 60's when you got all dressed up just to fly on a plane? I remember when I was 3 I put on my best frilly dress with a petticoat, Mary Jane shoes andwhite tights only to have my then infant brother throw up on me on a 4 hour flight to Miami.

Mimeographs - and onion sheets; and library paste (minty smell)! S&H green stamps. My grandmother practically furnished her house with the things she bought with those books of stamps. Oh, and anyone remember the little bone china animals that used to come in boxes of Red Rose tea? And the knitted mittens with a string attached that you put through your coat sleeves so you wouldn't lose your mittens. We used to call them idiot mittens. :)

I remember the mitten things (they have them on children and baby coats still)

My mother and grandmother used to knit those mittens for me and my brother. I used to cut that bloody string as soon as I could and would tell the folks that it "accidently" broke re: Anyone Old Enough To Remember ...?

How about Bonomo's Turkish Taffy? You had to slam it on the table to break it and then it gradually softened in your mouth.

Charleston Chews - (vanilla or chocolate)
I used to put them in the freezer and then whack on the table them to break them into pieces

The gum machines in NYC subway stations. You moved a lever to the kind of gum you liked, put in a nickle and a tiny box with 2 pieces of that gum came out.
