My neighborhood does this little thing each Halloween. We open our door one morning near halloween to find a cute little bag on the porch. It will be full of all kinds of stuff. This year I got candy, some crackers, popcorn & a candle. It comes with a note that I am supposed to make two myself and pass them on to other neighbors. It also comes with a little sign that says, "I've Been Booed!" to put in your window so that no one gets booed twice. So, I made two cute little bags stuffed with goodies and printed out the stuff and went to boo two other people. Of course, my first two choices had already been booed. The other two I chose may have been like me and chose to not put the sign up hoping for another booing. Woot. I love goofy crap like this.
That sounds fun!
I'd be really hesitant to eat anything dropped off at my door in my neighborhood, but the thought behind that is awesome.
Nice bucking the system to get doubled-booed.
Well, I live in the "Safest town in the United States" as of a report released yesterday...lol.
Wow. All the more reason my cautious mind would freak out.
It's always just after those "safest town in the US" reports are released that you hear about the cult that lived in Old Johnson's Farm barn that killed the entire town and eat their orga...
Er, I mean...
Enjoy your boo bag!
Never heard of such a thing, but sounds fun!
That does sound like fun! However, I would probably have to acknowledge the existance of my neighbors to partake in such a tradition.

That's so wholesome and sweet! I don't even like to make eye contact with my neighbours, let alone eat something left for me by them. I'm jealous of your cute neighbourhood.
It's funny because I only know three families in the neighborhood. One lives directly behind us and reminds me of Tony and Carmella Soprano, he sells meat, the young couple next door with the gigantic baby and the guy two doors down that helped me find the kid I work with when he went running out the front door. I met pretty much everyone at the 4th of July illegal fireworks extravaganza that the neighborhood has. It's hysterical. The place is like something out of a sitcom. Oh, there is also an Asian family that owns a nail salon.

Tres cute.
I leave little presents hanging on my neighbor's doors for Christmas and sometimes other holidays or just for the hell of it.
For their pets, too.

My neighborhood has a somewhat similar tradition. Your bell will ring and when you look outside, there is an injured child on your steps cying. When you go out to tend to him, his friends sneak inside to ransack your home. After a few mintues, the "injured" child jumps up, spits in your face and runs away. When you go back inside, all of your valuables are gone and obscenities are scrawled on the walls. IT's so popular they do it year round, not jsut for Halloween.
So, some teens just rang the doorbell to trick or treat. AT 3:00! So, I went to the door and the girl was holding a bag of candy in one hand and the little gift bag I made for the neighbor in the other. I asked where she got it and she said, "Oh, those people down there left it out for trick or treaters." She had opened it and read the paperwork in it and didn't get it. I explained what it was and she said, "ooops. Well, I have already opened it now." I asked for it back and she got pissed. They must be from out of town.
Why would you assume that one bag left on a porch that said, "You have been BOOED!" was for trick or treaters? Better yet, why would they be trick or treating at 3? Morons.
I love booing! My friends just did this on Saturday, I wasn't able to go. I was at "Avenue Q." But I love doing it. The way we do it in my town is that you ring the doorbell with the food there and run off. Unfortunately for my friends, someone didn't understand the concept and wound up calling the police on them. Eek!
I was booed in my dorm yesterday. It's a cute concept.

I got booed!
JerseyGirl- Did she give it back?
Yep.
I got BOOed a few days ago!
My neighborhood does that, too! I haven't been BOOed in over three years. I think that my neighbors think i'm just some other rebellious teen who doesn't deserve candy which I think is completely unfair. There are three other people living in this house.
