Posted: 9/1/06 at 9:04pmI think you can just go to the website, and request them. I know for Jon Stewart all you have to do is request dates and tickets via email.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 9:09pmI've never been to a taping, but I can almost guarantee you that they will check ID before you are let into the studio. Any TV show that I've ever attended has. It's for security more than anything.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 10:20pmHmm... I guess that makes sense but by doing that they will see that I'm slightly underage. Well thanks for your help.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 10:29pmIf the website says you need to be 18, and you are not 18, why would you entertain going?

You don't buy tickets for TV shows, usually. They are free. That also saves them the hassle of A) Guaranteeing the seat (They can over'sell' like crazy to assure a full house) B) You don't have final say over when you go, they do.
If you are with your mom, they might let you through, but why risk it?

Why not try? The worst they can do is say no to her even if she's with her mom. So then her mom can decide to go in anyway...maybe there's somewhere for sadiem100 to wait or they both just turn around and leave disappointed. It's worth a shot. Not like they wouldn't/couldn't give the seats to someone else.
Sadiem, what is *slightly* underage?

It may be 18 with an adult.
Your best bet is to contact them.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 3:27pmTwo years isn't exactly slightly underage. I think THE DAILY SHOW is pretty specific about their policy. So why do some people feel that policies are only for other people to abide by?

Ok, I'm *two years underage*. Is that better? I wasn't going to try and sneak in, I was wondering if it was relaxed enough for them to let me and my parent in. Just because I had a question doesn't mean that I'm excluding myself from the rules. I'm sorry my post was misleading.

I haven't been to a Jon Steward taping, but I think it's more of a set age restriction, not an age recommendation. Though, I do get where you're coming from, sadie, and I think it was worth asking. I mean, you can still go to a restricted movie with an adult, if you're under 17, and the same with theatre that has recommendations for age limits. But, like I said, I don't think you'd get in here. I've been to other tapings, and they check IDs on the way in, and I'd tend to think it'd be the same deal with Jon Stewart.
With that being said, I would tend to think getting your hands on a pair of tickets for the date you need would be as tough as getting in underage.

Posted: 9/2/06 at 3:48pmYeah, that's the impression I was under, mabel. My mom just emailed them requesting tickets for in December, but who knows. Thank you for understanding!

In NYC on my seventeenth birthday ['05], my parents & I tried to get tickets to see Letterman [Not that I really wanted to see him, but my parents did.] They wouldn't let us sign up for tickets because I was under 18, but I'm not sure they would've checked ID or anything had I said I WAS 18. Not everyone carries around an ID...well, everyone I know does, but I don't know what you non-military folks do. [Guess I'll find out in a year.]
I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky
